It gets better- Austin was playing there because Uncle Wayne picked a squad with only one specialist centre & no back up wingers... for a 2 month tour... in a squad that had 5 half backs (of whom only two ever played in the halves all tour + Austin got a game on the wing).

no sam burgess is what's going to hurt souths. yes he was a penalty liability, but he could give them a carry to get the set back on track. souths middles have no oomph or ability to right the ship against a competitive opposing unit like the Broncos. it was a complete 180 in comparison to the game v cronulla.

Murray needs to go back to 13. a big asset he has is his quick play the ball. he's not going to get his hands on the pill enough on 3rd or 4th tackles to provide this and allow Cook to take advantage of slow marker play around the ruck or allow Reynolds and Walker to play footy. lowe onto the edge and Knight back on the pine.

Mitchell to left centre. Perhaps look at putting him at FB once he has some match fitness, but he's not providing any push around the ruck right now like a 1 should. Johnstone will give Souths this. And Mitchell is definitely an upgrade on Burns at left centre. Burns was manhandled regularly in his darts out of dummy half early in sets, and Staggs mauled him throughout the match.
