Let's ask the DCE expert over in Los Angeles.

Locky?

He can dispute his value but the dude is an Origin half with a premiership and a Clive Churchill medal under his belt. 21 try assists this year in a side that can't score in a Gladstone Strip Club.

He's been carrying a pretty shit team for half a decade now.

I'm sure eel fans will back me but as a fan of a club that's been mostly mediocre while I've been an adult you just watch it out of habit. You go over games like Sherlock Holmes looking for some positives for next year.
Spot on, and fans of other clubs just don’t get it. Then you come good somewhat and They are like you guys can’t win the competition, but you don’t care because you got the novelty of watching 12 wins in one season instead of over 3 seasons.

Anthony Mitchell was another one, gee we have been in some dark places.

Mitchell was a slightly surprising one to be fair....he looked the goods at all grades and then just fell apart. Like he was the kind of kid you feel has been a let down if he plays 100 solid first grade games but he turned out worse than Kaysa f**ken Pritchard.

Haha 100% and then Smugrith fans think they're trolling you by saying "you'll be out in straight sets" or whatever but you're just stoked to be able to watch two semis instead of crying into your wooden spoon

Fun game to watch. Funny that when there’s nothing really riding on the result at the end of the year, the pressure is off, the game can be so much more appealing - or at least for me as a neutral.

And then when one of them ACTUALLY turns out to live up to the hype, they die (Tim Smith) or get arrested (Hayne) or go to the Roosters

Again, 10th is on the line here

All joking aside, it is a long off season. Finishing with a win is meaningful. Not as meaningful as making the finals, but they're playing for a bit here

I remember watching a game on TV with Kris Keating and my wife said ‘that little guy looks like strawberry shortcake’ that’s when you know your team is useless.
