Cleary was outstanding last night.

He's far from a creative genius, and he'll never be Thurston, but that's ok because he does a lot of things very well.

He plays direct and takes the line on, he has a nice long pass out wide, and an excellent long & short kicking game. Cleary also seems to excel under pressure, unlike his peers in Moses & Pearce.

He's also an excellent in line defender and cover tackler. Not to mention a great goal kicker.

Again, he won't ever be a creative genius but he's still a very accomplished player.

I feel this is necessary to point out because Cleary appears to be NSW fans new favourite punching bag. And NSW fans love nothing more than to mercilessly attack their own even when it's uncalled for.

sounds like your auditioning to be in Cleary's next tiktok video

I love you Tommy <3
I've always said you are an astute judge of talent when others have said you were a clueless nuff nuff.

And how about that draw? Would you rate it threadworthy? ha ha

congrats mate

he’s got you back to where you were before he took over
Hook had us winning games pretty much on superior fitness. As much as I enjoyed making the 8 3 years in a row I never really felt we were a chance at making the big dance.

I know you f**kers hate Ivans guts, but he has the team building pretty well so far this year. I wasnt thrilled with him being re signed, but credit where its due, I think he is doing a great job so far this year. Now we will probably fall apart & get knocked over by all the bottom 8 teams we havent had to play yet. ha ha. That wont include the Tigers, you merkins will be in 8th when we pummel you next week. :)

Maybe this year Ivan will take you further, however you were also in the top 4 on many occassions during his years with Hook, including when he was sacked. It's also worth noting in 2018 Ivan had Wests 6-1 after Round 7 including beating the Roosters and then Storm twice before they crashed back to earth.

Who knows. we're only 1/3 of the way through the year, theres many twists and turns ahead yet.

We were 5th when Hook was sacked, and remained there until the finals. We'd been in the top 4 earlier that 2018 season though, up to round 17, including top of the table for a short while. We were never in the top 4 at any other time during Hook's time at the club.

I remember reading your posts in 16 when the whole Moylan v Tedesco debate was in full swing. Seems your jealousy hasn’t slowed down.

he really gets on your nerves huh?
I wouldn't call it jealousy, but I do think he's overrated and always has been. I've given him credit when he's deserved it plenty of times.

And his combination with Keary, Cook and Tedesco will make NSW clear favourites in the Origin series at the end of the year.
Cook in particular needs to pull his finger out or he won't make the side. His and Cordner's defensive issues almost cost NSW the series last year and Fittler won't have forgotten.

Well how you feel about Tedesco, is how most people feel about Cleary. I will admit though, he is playing probably his best footy since the competition recommenced

I think you'll find everyone will be playing their best football end of year.
Usually this time of year we see big performances before Origin but it's been a very different season. The big negative will be having to see guys like Cam Smith play Origin as a last 'hurrah'.

The spine really does pick itself I think. I don't see anyone seriously challenging Cook for his spot.

Most of them never attack Tedesco though, even when he f**ks up. It is perplexing.
Well Teddy has been the best player in the NRL and Origin for two straight years - winning b2b NRL titles and Origin series.

So I'm not exactly sure when these f**k ups were.

He did miss a pretty simple tackle on that Penrith reject winger last week. Apart from that he has been pretty good. :)

Most definitely. I think the top 8 is pretty set. The only change I can see is Souffs out & your lot in. The order of the 8 though who knows. I'm just happy that so far we seem in control of our results. Under Hook a lot of the wins felt very seat of the pants. It was a thrill ride, but not necessarily great rugby league. So far this year feels different. Love or hate Nathan, you have to admit he is one composed mofo & seems to control a game very well.
