Easts signed Ashley Harrison from Souths when we were on our knees!
It's dog eat dog mate!
And we hated them for it.

Harrison, Field, Wing...

We didn't like it when other clubs dined on us.

So much for the salary cap making the comp even.

Anyone hear about how the gold coast want to swap Burgess and/or Murray for Arrow? Lol
Wouldn't even budge on Murray tbh.

Even if you were Cam Murray and they offered him $2mill a season as if you want to play behind a hooker who is past his prime and injury prone.. as well a halfback who doesn't know how to halfback.

GC know that won't happen, it won't surprise me if they force Arrow to play out his contract for this season.

More talk of Allan back to QLD to the Titans, apparently regardless of what happens with Arrow it won’t matter re Allan, Bennett isn’t a big fan either.

Unless Allan's homesick, that'd be a bad move for him if he aspires to play FB. He won't dethrone AJ Brimson.

They are a basket case. They have to pay way overs and players go there and budge. It's their own fault. No one wants to stand up and wave the stick around. Then get the broom out. Like I said, basket case.

You could say similar about Souths 10 years ago and perhaps even pre-Madge.
It was only 2016 that Souths missed finals and finished 3 games behind Gold Coast.
GC have made some bad recruitment decisions since then but if Justin Holbrook can replicate anything close to what he achieved in England, Gold Coast may finally work.

I'm actually speaking about since the GC came in way back in Wally days. They use to call it the departure lounge.

AJ was said to not be at training, I think he's goneski.
It’s his birthday today, I’d say we gave him the day off.

Oh well let them have an unhappy player on their books whose heart isn’t there. Arrow is furious with them apparently behind the scenes.

Apparently he is homesick, my mate just messaged me again a few minutes ago and said Titans won’t take him lol even though he wants to go there, I thought they would be desperate for signings lol.

Latest update on Arrow situation is Storm to release Tino and us to give them Allan.
Is this from a reliable source bro?

Here’s an update on the Titans situation:

  • Arrow is desperate to come to Redfern immediately. He is toeing the company line for now but may flex his muscle shortly, which will be a tipping point in their approach. The coach is adamant he wants no distractions as has plagued the club year by year in for seemingly their entire history.
  • Arrow is annoyed now at what’s transpiring. He was verbally assured a release would happen upon fair negotiations, which his Manager assures has occured from the Souths side. The hold up is squarely with the Titans now and that has pissed Arrow and his Manager off severely. They do not appear to be operating in good faith as they assured Arrow they would.
  • Prior to Christmas, Gagai was the player going to the Titans. He was verbally offered a contract extension to move to the GC for 2020 and was asked by Souths to consider the move. He informed Souths just after New Year’s Day that he would accept a transfer, only for the Titans to renege on their offer. Gagai is going no where now and will be with Souths for 2020.
  • The player most recently offered (AGAIN) is Corey Allen. The Titans aren’t interested in releasing Arrow with Allen alone, talks of adding a forward (I’ve been told AMone is the one they want) are ongoing. This may happen.
  • If Melbourne release the young gun to the Titans early, or if they seal the deal with Asiata (which is close), Arrow will be released to us for Allen alone.
  • AJ has a big offer from the Tigers in hand. He has until Friday to accept. Not sure of his intentions or desires, however he would be absolutely crazy not to take it in my opinion.
  • Oh, and most topical given the above hysteria - Adam Doueihi is GOING NOWHERE. NO WHERE. He has received approaches from the Tigers, Dragons, Titans and Roosters (who have pro-actively assumed he may be disheartened by the LM signing) however the Club will not release him under any circumstances. He is an absolute favourite of Bennett and Richo and will be in the 17 each week. He will play a critical role as first man up to replace any of our halves or backs across Origin and in case of injury and has been assured a full-time position in the halves once Adam and or Cody’s contract expire. One of the two is on their final contract with Souths. Adam is the heir apparent to succeed one of them. AGAIN, he is going NOWHERE.

Yeah pretty reliable. I’ve read that we laughed at them when they suggested Amone. I don’t really want to lose him I think he can easily be as good as Tatola and Knight for us.

If GC wanting Amone is true, Souths need to decide what's more important, attempting to win in 2020 or winning in 2021 and beyond.

For 2020, Arrow in for Amone is a no brainer imo. I do like the look of Amone but he's still unproven at 23 and most likely to be a bench option. Arrow at 24 however will not only start but play big minutes. The risk lays with GC.

If winning beyond 2021 is the priority then keep Amone knowing Arrow is already joining in 2021.

I think to be a successful team we always have to think for the future. Why lose Amone now when we can have Arrow and Amone next year?

With Sam Burgess helping out with the forwards over the preseason I expect Amone to go to another level just like Knight did last year.

And i stated that in option 2, which would be my personal choice.

I'm just pointing out that Amone is expendable if the club deems 2020 it's best opportunity to win #22.
