Taafe, Dargan and Hawkins. Hawkins has been lurking around for a while now it’s definitely time for him to prove to the club if he’s going to be first grade standard. Taafe and Dargan have been reportedly ‘training the house down’ as well. Playing with heaps of confidence against the first grade boys.
I like the sound of that!

Damn, some Souths supporters are never happy. We have had one of the biggest recruitment off seasons in a long time. We signed arguably the best off contract forward in Arrow and easily the best off contract back in Mitchell which replace both Sam and GI.

We have some high quality juniors coming through in Dargan, Taafe, Dillon, Sironen, Marsters, Josh Cook. (I’m definitely missing a few here as well) Give these players time and they will eventually turn into your Campbell Graham’s, Cameron Murray’s and Adam Reynolds’. We are a club that are really good at developing players into first grade players. We have been for the last couple of years. We have let so many players go and fans always complain but we always manage to replace them. Doueihi is a fantastic player but Doueihi is replaceable.

I don’t want to be the club that holds players back from first grade. I want to be the club that develops players into regular first graders which is what we have done.

Doueihi also was a tigers fan and tigers junior growing up. Let him return home and play under Madge. I wish nothing but the best for him as a player as I know he’s a gun in the making.

Sensible comment, thank you

Well done to Doueihu.

Too good a player to be shafted like he has.

Souths have got their recruitment and retention somewhat skewed when Doueihi ups and leaves.

The Roosters have emerged as contenders to claim the signature of Rabbitohs star Adam Doueihi, with the 21-year-old set to split with South Sydney in the coming days.

Eager to get their revenge against their fiercest rivals, who signed Latrell Mitchell after the Roosters had already paid him $116,000 for the 2020 season, the tricolours are in negoatiations with Doueihi - and a deal could leave the Rabbitohs similarly out of pocket.

Doueihi was not at training on Wednesday morning and is expected to be granted a leave of absence by the club in the coming days. Last week, he was granted permission to skip his club's training camp on the NSW south coast while he sorted out his future in Sydney.

Doueihi was told at the start of the year that he would have a shot at the No.1 jersey after the club re-signed Cody Walker, after initially being told he would be in the No.6. But after the signing of Mitchell, Souths coach Wayne Bennett told Doueihi he was free to explore his options and would have to look elsewhere if he wanted to secure a starting fullback position.

At the Roosters, Doueihi would be second fiddle to James Tedesco in the No.1 jersey and would sign based on the club's need to replace Mitchell at centre.

Originally, a reunion was on the cards for Doueihi and former coach Michael Maguire at Concord Oval, but a suitable contract has yet to be found between the two parties. The Tigers are still holding out hope a deal can be struck.

The joint-venture announced the signing of Joseph Leilua on a three-year deal on Monday, with two spots on their roster still to fill.

The Tigers have enough in their salary cap to accommodate both players, and would be able to offer Doueihi their No.1 jersey. Doueihi's back-ended contract is worth about $550,000 for this season and $575,000 in 2021, a cost which has been a sticking point for a deal with the Tigers.

Melbourne have also been named as a club in the mix of the Doueihi saga, but continue to be frightened off by his price tag.

On the Gold Coast, Mal Meninga has put an official end to talks with Souths about letting Jai Arrow go for 2020.

The Rabbitohs have secured the star forward from 2021 on four-year deal but were hoping to get him over to Redfern Oval as a replacement for Sam Burgess. The Titans have now agreed to immediately release prop Leilani Latu to join the Warrington Wolves in England, making the squad more reliant on Arrow's star power to take them through the 2020 season.

Despite the attitude of Meninga, South Sydney general manager of football Shane Richardson hasn't given up all hope a solution will be found to bring the Titans around.

If he goes to Easts I will be mad, if Teddy or Keary go down he just transitions from centre into one of those positions.

It will just make Easts stronger depthwise, if Keary goes down Douiehi slots in and for us if Cody goes down Dargan comes in, I know who will be laughing here if that happens and it sure won’t be us!

What can you do when Gagai, Johnstone and/or Burns won't leave and/or no other club wants them?

You want us to pass on Latrell at bargain basement prices?

Every Souths guy Ive spoken to for the last 3 years would have killed to have Latrell on our team. Now that he is here, there is all this reticence and doubt. Forget what the media and other team's fans are saying about Latrell will fail, its not gonna happen

With the proposed loan swap between Wests and Melbourne, i wonder if Souths would consider similar by offering Doueihi on loan for an edge forward like Michael Chee Kam or Luke Garner in return?

Man, that's a real shame about Doueihi. We've lost a great player and a great kid. I can't help but feel a little bit gutted about it as I genuinely believe that he is a star of the future and that he would be our long term half of five eighth once Reyno and/or Walker retire. In the short term, I think we all agreed he'd be the perfect utility off the bench. With his departure, that is no longer an option which really does suck.

I might be a little bit gutted but at the same time, I'm okay with it and I understand why. The club has handled this in the most honourable way possible as they have looked out for Adam as a person which is good to see. We're not gonna be one of those clubs that kills a players dreams and holds them back.

A real shame though, I thought he would have had it in him to stay and fight for a spot in the starting side but obviously not.

Wish him all the best and I hope he goes well wherever he ends up next.

They won’t let Mikaele, Garner or Chee Kam go.

The only two they’d be likely to allow to move on are Packer and McQueen and I really don’t want Packer and we’d have to pay a fair chunk of his 800k contract, so no thanks.
