Obviously not good to hear this about Jimmy. However, I'm glad to hear it's not because of alcohol issues. Sounds like he's having a bit of a tough time with no Footy which is understandable.

I take my hat off to him for seeking help and showing that it ain't week to speak, good on him. Hope he's okay and that he gets well soon. Can't wait to see him back out on the field.

Hopefully Roberts can sort himself out or he could really struggle come retirement.

He has great support around him it seems and he has shown that he's not afraid to admit when he has problems. That's a very good thing which will hopefully hold him in good stead. Plus, he has matured a lot and will hopefully continue to learn and mature.

Rereading what i wrote, I feel i worded it a lot more negatively than i intended, sorry.

A lot of pro athlete's struggle in retirement with the lack of day to day structure and team mate interaction. Andrew Johns has spoken about it before as well as many other former athletes around the world.

Roberts recognising his issues now will hopefully allow him to get in front of them and put himself in good stead for for when he does retire.

Recognising and admitting that he needs help and going out to get it is braver than anything a player can do on the field.

Rabbitohs Statement regarding Cody Walker


The South Sydney Rabbitohs are aware of an incident involving player Cody Walker which took place in northern New South Wales in October 2019.


The NRL’s Integrity Unit have been informed.


At no stage has Cody Walker been the subject of a police enquiry in relation to this incident.


The Rabbitohs will be making no further comment on this matter at this stage as it is part of an ongoing police enquiry instigated by Cody Walker himself.

I just hope Cody tells the truth to the integrity unit. Telling lies could potentially only get him in even more strife than what’s he’s already in.
