GAGAI FOR ARROW SWAP?
The Titans have their eyes on Queensland State of Origin utility back Dane Gagai in a possible swap for fellow Maroon Jai Arrow with Souths next season.

Arrow has signed with the Bunnies for 2021 - but has told anyone who wants to listen that he doesn't want to wait that long to make the switch.

The Titans are playing hardball, however, insisting that Arrow sticks to his contract with the Gold Coast.

But they are open to a swap and with Souths having plenty of depth in the outside backs, they may let Gagai go.

The sticking point is whether Souths pay some of Gagai's wage for next year and that could stop the swap from going ahead.

Arrows money should already be budgeted because moving gagais move is not assured or anticipated and we have sams money

Handy just remember Su’a, Lowe and Roberts full wages are on our books now and we have probs had to give Murray a fair upgrade, Cookie is on 900k this season on so his wage has gone up and Campbell and a couple of others are likely to have gotten minor upgrades too.

I’m close to certain now Mitchell will be here for 2020 lads, I’m more hoping re Arrow and can’t say I’m as confident re him being here like Latrell for 2020. What does give my a fair amount of confidence though is Mascot Spy said the other day Arrow is a done deal for 2020 and I’d say 75percent of the time this guy is right, when he does get info he’s usually right.

I’m still hoping we only have to move one of AJ or Gags on unless we are getting Addo-Carr which I’m not too confident about.

When you look at things currently we have a 28 man squad for 2020, getting Latrell and Arrow makes that 30 but we have too many backs and not enough forwards in our top 30 so if we release one of Gagai or AJ we can get one more fringe 17 forward which we need or if Gagai and AJ both go we potentially may get 2 more forwards for our top 30, very interesting times.

Keep in mind if both AJ and Gags go for Latrell then:

Latrell
Campbell
Roberts
Burns

They’ll all be guaranteed to start if fit and then for the other winger it will be between Allan and Goodwin and they aren’t the fastest as we know but they’d do a job for us. Personally I’d prefer Goodwin get the last spot as he’s very good with the shit work coming out of trouble. Then we’d have Douiehi as a back up fullback and centre and then we get to the likes of young Steven Marsters and then dud Denniss who was so disappointing in the games he did play in CC in 2019. Then we have Gebbie and Jaxson Paulo but they’re both on development contracts and unless we get hit by injuries can’t play first grade til July at this stage.

I’m sure Souths are doing everything they can and are desperate behind the scenes to get Arrow here for 2020, let’s just hope Arrow is also desperate and really wants to get here ASAP!

If Arrow comes for 2020 that will change a bit depending on where Wayne wants to play Arrow.

After the bench I’ve named it seems we just have Dillon, Rodwell, Koloamatangi and possibly Mago, so if we get a few injuries we could be in some real trouble. Jack Johns is on a development contract and therefore can’t play first grade til July unless we have an injury crisis!

Really we need to do all we can to get Arrow here early.
