Williame is a specialist left centre, if he impresses over Lafai in the trials There’s every chance he’ll be picked. I doubt he’d come back from France as a backup. I think JDB will be back. Thankfully in this country we have free speech so I’m entitled to my opinion. Won’t be long and we can revisit this thread I guess.
I'm hoping with hope Williame can turn up. Must be someone that can give us a positive or negative comment. I know is Trent Merrin in this Forum digitised as someone. Is he the Orange or OT maybe

Thanks Ian....what about their TPA's and / or bonus money.
How are those payments going to affect the cap savings.

Only Aitken and Lafia are on TPA's and bonus money; they are such good centres! So no big deal as they will be moving on at seasons end.

Numbers one to six need a complete overhaul.

Some points:

1. Lomax is “iffy” under the high ball and won’t last.

2. Saints don’t have any strengths in the centres. Buying a bloke with less than 30 NRL games experience over a four year period is cringeworthy even for Millward.

3. Norman’s only consistency is his inconsistencies.

I'm not sure what Wiliame expects/has been promised but it seems unlikely that Lafai gets dropped for him. I think Wiliame could end up on the wing with the ability to move to centre if required.

We are definitely getting Williame, I reckon the team will line up as follows.
1.Lomax
2.Pereira
3.Williame
4.Aitken
5.Saab
6.Norman
7.Hunt
8.Graham
9.McInnes
10.Vaughan
11. Friz
12 Sims
13.JDB
14.Ford
15.Merrin
16.Sims
17. Lawrie

The makeup of the bench may be different and there could be some shuffling of 2, 3, and 4 but for the most part that's the side I see running out game 1. If there was a smoky id say maybe Ramsey will get a run on the wing if he plays well in the trials.
You wouldn't use Isaac Luke off the bench? I say we bought him so might as well use him. No point playing him in reserve grade at his age.

He will be on the bench in a hooker rotation with McInnes. When look comes on, McInnes will move to the backrow.

Settled halves, some luck and a new hooker? Dear Santa, all my NRL club wants for Christmas is...

DRAGONS

Corey Norman and Ben Hunt to fire

St George Illawarra are under a mountain of pressure ahead of 2020, with the season looming as make or break for coach Paul McGregor.

If the Dragons are any hope of bettering their horror 15th placed finish, they need Norman and Hunt to step up.

Gareth Widdop has gone, so there’ll be no chopping and changing in the halves, while McGregor has already guaranteed Zac Lomax first crack at the fullback role.

My club wants is the removal of Mary and the signature extension od Frizzell.
Not much to ask for really.

No I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t be shattered if he was. I’d prefer Ford because he can cover the outside backs plus back row.

Maybe, who knows I just hope that at least with Flanno as a sounding board he and Mary start rewarding form over favourites. If they trial and Lafai smokes him fine but if Williame outplays Lafai they have to to go with Williame. Lafai won’t get another NRL club and certainly won’t be resigned. Time to start looking at the ESL.

IMO, and unfortunately, trial 'form' means diddky squat these days, especially at the Dragons. McGregor, whilst still holdingvthe mantle of head coach, will have his team list for game 1 set already. Players such as Aitken and Lafai will he on there.
Trials nowadays are more of a 'blow out the cobwebs' rather than seriously looking at who plays the best.

Generally probably not but after the year we had last year i think 2020 will have to be different. I watched a few games of Wiliame on Kayo over the last few days and he looks a proper specialist left centre, Im not sure how he would go on the wing and I don't think he's express pass, more fast enough, strong and has great passing skills. Looks a good defender too but the ESL can make one look better. At the very least he will push Lafai to perform. Lafai also has similar attributes to Wiliame but he's lost too much speed.

The NRL squad is currently 26 players including De Belin. I doubt that De Belin will be available again. As a result, we have 5 spots open and if we keep one spot unfilled re. De Belin their are 4 vacant spots. In the Development Squad only Clune and Sauni-Esau could be considered along with Gale and Ramsay from Jersey Flegg. I believe that we need to recruit a tall, fast quality centre/winger and a gun prop/backrower which would leave 2 vacancies. What do others think?

I reckon Ramsey will be that tall winger. They will start him on the wing and if Lomax doesn’t fire he will go back there.

One spot has got to be reserved for a backup half. I'm not sure we have any cover for Hunt or Norman at this stage and we know Hunt will play origin - there is Sailor, just not sure he's a half.

I'd say we need one more back rower and another outside back who can play centre. That would give us the 29 you need before the start of the season. We only need the 30th by the end of June, so they'll wait on that to see who becomes available in the season.

Clune would be the back up half, but would need to he promoted to the senior squad. Both Sailor and possibly Dufty coukd slot in as well as Sullivan, but like Clune would need promoting from the DS.
We are, apparently, chasing a centre/backrow and close to a deal I believe.
My guess, and only my guess, is that a couple of the current DS will move to the senior squad, with the likes of Ramsey, Gale or Wishart moving into the DS.
The JDB case is a further distraction, as far as recruitement goes, but if he is considered the 30th player, but gets rubbed out we have until June 30 to fill that spot.

I think that Ramsey is the best young back that we have had in the past 10 years. He looks better than Dufty, Field, Herbert, Johns and Marsters. He has pace, size and can back up and make a break with consummate ease.

Sounds great, I hope Ramsey makes his way into our NRL backline as soon as possible.
