Never been a big fan of Captain and main playmaker being same. Want playmaker taking penalty, talking tactics etc while Captain talks to the ref or lodges complaints, especially nowadays with clocks timing you.

Thought it should have been Guerra all along. If he stays I’d go with him. But I expect he won’t be here, so Glasby is the standout for mine. Seems he is the most respected amongst the group.

Pearce can assume leadership for the 10 either side of halftime whilst he has a spell.

It’s either Klem or Tim for captain.

Let’s see what the new coach thinks.
Given his history with Glasby I'd say he's a shoo-in

Wouldn't be disappointed either - he always seems to have a cool head about him. Comes from a winning system under probably the best captain in the game.

me to but Glasby seems more certain to be selected each week though.

Pearce couldnt be more removed from both these guys.

Note the old boys day video https://www.newcastleknights.com.au/news/2019/09/02/old-boys-day-behind-the-scenes/ ......both Glasby and Pearce walking up the tunnel and who is acknowledging the fans. Taking into consideration what's happened in the last 2 weeks. Glasby is the man for mine.

Looks pretty good. Got no depth in the outside backs which I'm real worried about...

Yep agreed, obviously we still have Moga as well but I'd be trying to sign at least 2 outside backs. Maybe guys like Aaron Grey and Brenko Lee, have abit of experience, wouldn't break the bank and both probably abit too young to want to take the super league retirement pension

I'd be pretty confident they sign another outside back and edge forward.

Good competition for the four outside back spots. Barnett to the bench, sione to reggies where he belongs.

Amazing how Fitz avoids any criticism on here yet Barny our best second rower cops a pounding.

Same amount of games but in less minutes ( for Barny ) the stats are-

Barny - 20 games
  • Tries 7
  • Try ass 4
  • Line breaks 5
  • Tackle breaks 26
  • Offloads 15
  • errors 6
  • tackles 676

Fitz- 20 games
  • Tries 5
  • Try ass 1
  • Line breaks 2
  • Tackle breaks 24
  • Offloads 4
  • errors 10
  • tackles 516
Worth noting
  • Barny plays right side and Fitz on the left ( our primary attacking side )
  • Barny kicks goals
  • Offloads - in a side void of them the stand out is ?
So how would we have faired if we had 2 Barny's in the side versus 2 Fitz ? Perhaps we's be playing a game next week. ?

Might be copping a pounding but it ain't from me.
fair enough.

In my opinion if we recruit another decent second rower Fitz is under the most pressure to keep his position in the side. I sometimes forget Fitz is on the field where as Barny is in the game up to his eyeballs.

Glasby is another that seems teflon. I just dont see the value of the guy within our current squad. He's a bench player at best IMO. Offers nothing in attack and his stats at least are woeful.

Fitzy has regressed massively this year, firstly he's been worked out in attack, he doesn't get those clear runs to the try line anymore and can't break a tackle to save his life, secondly he doesn't take many runs at all inside his own half, he seems to be reluctant to take those tough runs and only likes to hit it up when the opposition are on the back foot, he also has nothing resembling a passing or offload game
