Interesting to see what vlandys says after this. If he reckons it is being reffed the same way as the NRL in recent weeks he is kidding himself.

All he is concerned with is sponsorship and public perception. In the NRL comp, certain demographics are concerned about high tackles and illegal play. Particularly parents of children. Then in Origin, he knows all fans want it to be fast and violent. I reckon the refs have been tappering it off in the NRL a bit in lead up to Origin, so it wasn't as obvious.
