Its a joke he even got sent off, there were far worse incidents over the weekend yet players were only sin binned or even stayed on the field. Just imagine if the scores were closer.

I was worried Sivo would be sent off based on last nights incident. Just proves what a shambles this crackdown is and we are saying different interpretations.

Hethrington cops a fine meanwhile the clowns in the bunker and the sidepiece out on the field sent him straight off

Fine the Canberra player for making unnecessary contact with Hethrington's shoulder, ridiculous

Tell me this sport isn't f**ked

So Ryan James drops the knees into JWH - nowhere near the head - grade 2 contrary conduct.

Isaiah Papali’i drops knees directly to the head - grade 1 contrary conduct.

Seems legit.

The reason we have the fine system is because people were upset players were missing a week for supposedly innocuous stuff.

I reckon adjusting the points system would've been a better way to go 🤷‍♂️
I’m assuming the NRL fine system is operated like those run by other governing bodies in sport like Racing NSW, Racing Victoria etc. The stewards in racing have the power to hand out some massive fines- e.g. $50,000 to McEvoy last year for overusing the whip. They also hand out big suspensions to jockeys, which has an immediate impact on their bottom line, as a lot of them are freelancers and are paid per ride. If the idea is to use fines to discourage behaviour, ~$1500 fines to players on 400k+ a year probably isn’t the most effective system.

They really need to adjust the grading system for kicking an opponent.
The two incidents of Munster are completely unnatural actions in our game.
Very ironic that he commits a second kick in a game where he should have been suspended for kicking an opponent.
Also how long do prior offences last? Didn’t he kick someone in the head in the 2018 GF?

Should of got a month for the first in the GF then doubled each successive time. He REALLY needs a flogging. I'd pick Jack Hetherington on the bench for NSW. Let him sort the merkin

How can you be sent off, and then only be hit with a bullshit fine ?

How can you stay on the field, and then get hit with 2 weeks ?

Either the on-field ref and bunker are clueless, or the MRC are clueless.

I know which way I'm leaning.

But either way, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing.
It's always been shit, but got even shitter under the greasey one.

Whilst I agree there wasn’t much in it, I put it in the merkin act category. Spitting at someone doesn’t hurt anyone but you should cop a couple of weeks for doing it.
Agreed. Those kicks weren't going to send anyone to the hospital, but the actual act of kicking players, as well as spitting and biting, is taboo in our sport and should have been dealt with accordingly. The NRL has shown no leadership in not banning a player for displaying contempt for the game by kicking players twice within a week.

There is no consistency during games, the inconsistency gets even worse by the time the MRC get involved. Don’t even start me on the judiciary they are an absolute joke. The game is a mess, sadly.

Crackdown is well and truly over now. Aside from a one off incident in sending off Kobe Hetherington (must have saw the name and thought it was Jack) the on field decisions have been pretty tame and the punishments at judiciary a f**king joke.

Drop your knee into a players head? No worries here's a fine. Make high forceful contact to the head as first point of contact? Here have a weeks holiday.

Funnily enough Roosters have been screwed most by the inconsistent calls, slaps on wrists and the week long crack downs. Radley binned twice and banned for a few weeks on stuff that is now fairgame again. Dog shots on Roosters players were barely punished hence this crackdown that hurt them most.

I think the fallout from the media and players has unnerved everyone from the referees to the MRC. They really need to sit down and iron out the inconsistencies.
