For everyone slamming Tedesco for overplaying, did you ever consider why? He knew the halves were capable of absolutely nothing and he was just trying to make something happen. It looked like frustration to me. It never b wouldn't occurred had there been a remotely decent half on the field for NSW. It reminded me of when Gallen and Farah would get in the way of everything. Like, who was gonna take charge back then, Pearce? Finch? Hodkinson? Soward?

These are the types of stupid things that happen when a team doesn't have leadership or any form of competence at 6 and 7.
Completely disagree. Maybe that would hold true if we had Gutherson and Wighton in the centres but when you have Turbo up against a guy who's never defended in the centres before you need to just give early ball, instead I think Tedesco not only held the ball too many times he also ran sideways too much which took away space. NSW won game 1 and 2 easily despite the halves not really being close to MOTM on either occasion

I don’t know if I watched the same game but Ponga was good but I thought hunt was MOM. The way Johns and his channel 9 cartel are going on Ponga was slater and Cameron Smith all rolled into one.
Agreed. Especially considering the arse kickings these guys have all given to Hunt, they should acknowledge when he played well.
He was the difference tonight. Awesome game from him.

Unpopular opinion but I wouldn't have Freddy coaching the side. The team has enough talent to mostly coach itself and imo Fittler gets selections wrong more often than not. Like, why wouldn't you just have Reynolds and Walker when they're 1. In better form and 2. Would have formed the entire Souffs spine combination along with Cook and Latrell.

He really is blind Freddy.
Walker didn't care enough when he was picked

Both were great… really showed how much Qld missed Ponga in early games but yes Hunt was outstanding.

both had a bigger influence than the Qld halves. Munster went walkabout and Cherry-Daly Evans was fits and starts.

But a cracking game of footy. In an otherwise dreary season for mine.

Bracey be like "And tonight we see why clean sweeps are so rare"

Because The Narrative (TM) of Origin forbids it. Even the last clean sweep was only settled in the last 5 minutes of the game.

As a purist I am so f**king pissed. Say whatever you like about the halves pairing tonight, say whatever you like about the genius who decided to kick for goal from 40 metres out, but no way did NSW deserve to lose that tonight. You cannot tell me that a team who loses 50-6 and 26-0 in Games 1 and 2 comes back and wins Game 3 with only a handful of changes. You cannot be fair dinkum.

Before you call me bitter, I thought the same after NSW were gifted Game 3 in 2016. Qld deserved to sweep that, but it didn't suit The Narrative (TM).
I gave the Maroons a chance of winning when the both the halves were ruled out. That is going to have an effect on any team. Not overly shocked at the result a clean sweep is a very rare thing. NSW might've had to fly in on game day as well which f**ks you up a bit as well.

I will still look back on this series with fond memories. Winning with every game in Queensland is something very special. I won a bet on Turbo winning man of the series so i make even more money on top of my pay cheque from today. And maybe a QLD win will keep Paul Green in the job which is good news for us NSW.

You can always measure a game’s greatness by how many times the cowbell rang for no f**ken reason

If it came to a point that the NSWRL board thought there had to be a change of coach, you'd have to pick Brandy who I think has a more logical and serious approach to the game than Fittler.

But in saying that, we still won the series, and there is no need for a change when you think that NSW were severely hampered by not having Cleary and Luai at hand, although it was a big mistake in not picking the Souths halves.

Id prefer to get Ricky back personally…

might light up the anti-Ricky fans here but he was the guy who bore the brunt of the Qld era of dominance and had us competitive in the face of it. We need more c—t in us… he’s the guy who has that…

Fittler has had the better team in all series he’s coached. I’d argue Stuart got the better out of his teams than Fittler did of his..

When you’re on top, Stuart is the guy who’d press his boot further on your throat while he garrots your stomach and stares straight into your eyes as you bleed to death… while Fittler would say “well done lads, let’s go to the pub”.

Gimme Ricky…

Don't get me wrong, Tedesco absolutely sucked tonight and I agree regarding the way he played but I strongly disagree that Cleary/Luai weren't close to best on ground, particularly in Game 1. They literally ripped QLD apart with every touch and were the reason the outside backs got clean, early ball.

I do think Tedesco has been on a gradual decline all season though.

The glaring point that was lost on everyone is how below par the Panthers played without Cleary and Luai leading up to this game, and that knock-on effect it would have on the NSW side.

You are not going to have synchronicity throughout a side if your attacking managers are not there.

I don't think too many are gonna be happy with a game plan consisting of hitting the ball up in the middle of the field for 80 minutes and high kicks with no attacking intent straight to the opposition backline to tell you the truth

But you know the boys would be hurtin in the sheds tonight after a game like that.

Honestly though bloody Seibold could probably coach the blues and win more often than not against us at the moment, 3 zips just hard to achieve, refs probably against you and the team down 2 nil is probably up for it just as much if not more than a decider whilst the team 2 nil up, especially with how convingly the blues won this year is probably hoping to Harlem Globetrotter there way to victory

Moses was that nonexistent he could play a game next year and it’d still classify as a debut.
Lol what a bold hot take. Moses was involved in 2 of the blues tries and kicked from deep in his half for a lot of the match. He wasn’t outstanding but to say that he was non existent is just plain wrong. Cleary lost the series to the worst origin side of all time last year as well.

A lot of wrong options taken by our spine tonight. Paulo seemed to be first receiver for half our sets in their 20.

We shouldn't have been in that position but that kick for two was so dumb at the 78th minute, Jesus. Maybe when fatty wasn't completely gassed he could have kicked it. Wonder if that was Latrells, Teddys or Barefoots idea.

NSW sorely missed PENRITH halves and Dan Saifiti.

That loss stings. We had ample opportunities to win that game, and poor decision making and dumb errors let us down. I remember how good 2000 felt, and it is annoying as f**k we've failed all 4 times we've had the opportunity to repeat it since then. Hopefully at least it fires the players up for next year.
