thought things went the Titans way in the first half and the storm were just too good in the second half and the Titans couldn’t go with them.
The head high tackle Penalty was a joke, so was the play ball that should have been a penalty to the Titans…

Nicho for whatever reason isn’t really playing a traditional 7 role tonight. Harry Grant keeps over playing his hand on the 5th for no result.

Still none the wiser on kicking or repeat set ability. Munster of course is calling the shots which is fine.

Small data set sure but not sure he is our 7

Agreed. I thought he was bog average

It was underwhelming.

I realise it’s ‘early days’, but he looked TENTATIVE.

This could be because:

1. Coach said let the more experienced hands take control
2. Senior players over called him
3. He was feeling his way

Anyway, too early to write him off at 7. He clearly knows how to put a player into space, which then creates space for himself.

I honestly believe that he following spine can work:

9. McInnes / Brailey
7. Trindall
6. Hynes
1. Kennedy

I thought he was good at doing his job last night. You can tell he wants to do a lot more and get a shit load more touches and control the team but was doing what he was told to do. He let Munster take control. Was putting himself in position to make plays but Grant was out to prove his point as starting 9 with Smith not playing and over calling and playing his hand to much. Full of season and his team can definitely be a genuine half.

The difference was when Gold Coast got things there way first half they could only just lead, I can't remember storm hardly getting a 6 again, but Titans did.
If I was Titans fan, I would be irate with David Fifita he is a flat track bully, play a good team he goes missing doesn't look for work, and the missed tackle on Munster he just gave up

Hynes was always going to play an understated role last night. We might have been looking for a dominant 7 performance but Bellamy wasn't. Munster was always going to be lead playmaker. Getting Papenhuyzen back in the groove was a key priority.

Hynes just has class in his work. The timing of his passes is excellent. He doesn't panic and is prepared to take a tackle if needed rather than create undue pressure for another player.

The most impressive thing for mine was that he looked for contact in defence. He had no issues defending in the front line.
