Here we go again, just shut your mouth Ivan

I'm of the opinion this would have been a good move IF Ivan had waited to shoot his shot until we played the Storm. By doing it before an essentially meaningless non knock out game he now looks like a whinger.

The Storm do three things very well which need attention:

1) Move off the mark every play the ball.
2) Fumble the ball when they are given a six again to get a penalty
3) Give away deliberate six agains (we do it too but not as bad) in a way that is almost a professional foul. Against Manly the ref called held on Turbo and a Storm player came in two seconds late to hit him again. Hit a relaxed played and ruined Manly's set for the cost of a mere tackle.

Instead Ivan bitched in week 1 so now his whinging will be ignored.

Neither the initial Penrith article nor the Storm article have any cited quotes. It's pure fabrication. Our coach/CEO/Chairman might be annoying with this sort of stuff but I don't think their sometimes inflammatory comments are normally quite tactful and whinging this week of all weeks would be dumb.

I think our points this game will need to come predominately on the back of kicking. Storm's condensed, rushing defence is too good for our clunky backline movement. If we were in top form, sure we could put a few around them. Off the scrum some of our plays are indefensible also.

A try off a peach of a Cleary kick, a slick scrum play early and the Melbourne aura comes down, our confidence goes up, the Mounty boys get hyped, backline movements suddenly start sticking.

The Sydney media like to run articles about the Storm cheating tactics around finals time every year, and the Storm whine bout it every year.

As there are no quotes, I would be very surprised if anyone at Penrith made quotes to the media about it this week.

TPJ must play big minutes. His off-loads along with Yeo's, creates 2nd phase play that the Storm don't enjoy. They play so well when you throw structure at them.

He should be on the edge, On the right and have Crichton running off his offloads.

Yet Ivan will use him poorly again

Our current price to win this match is $3.30. That's one chance in 3.3 or precisely 30%. With bookmaker margin, our true chance is probably about 32 or 33 in 100. So if this game is played 100 times, we win 32 of them. Certainly much better than 0. We need to play a style of game that results in one of those 32 games. Absolute ball security is the key. We must cherish possession. Storm love to punish errors. We must also watch the edge of the ruck carefully. This is where Brandon Smith and Harry Grant like to run and with Pap backing them up it's over in the blink of an eye.

If we can get a good start they'll start to have doubts. In the back end I think our hard preparation and their lack of tough football can find them out. they will be hoping for the sort of game they had against Manly, where the second half was just going through the motions. We cannot let them have it.

Exactly, and the Storm took the bait, line and sinker. A nerve was hit though.

Yep...i'm sure that's right...Bellamy does have a reputation among those that know as being a bit naive and quite easily outwitted ..After their loss to parra they've been exposed and their bogus confidence is shot...you've got this on a plate...panthers 40+

1000% right. Melbourne are going to come out the blocks and try to blast us out of the game in the first 30 mins.

If we hold the ball and don't make dumb errors we are right in this.

The 3 games the Storm have lost this year has been through brutual defence and making minimal mistakes from their opponents(Parra X2 and Penrith). If you don't give them the ball all the time they aren't invincible!

The Storm are there to be beaten, just have to excute perfectly on Saturday

Edwards and Kikau are our Achilles heel here. They get the droppsies early and the game is over before it even begins

After the loss on Sunday the last 2yrs are going feel so empty

cause what have yous really achieved ? Nothing

storm have already beaten your winning streak from last year

only thing you could brag about is the ref and bunker helped you cheat a cheap victory against the Eels ( the only side in the comp that have the storms number 2-0 would of been 3-0 against them this week )
