I still don't believe any team can play 80 minutes and not give away a single penalty.
No team has the discipline.
Just before the Warriors 2nd try, Panthers marker gets pushed over just before the play the ball. Instead of penalizing, he says "you can't do that mate, let him up and play it again". Very next tackle, Panthers player strips the ball and is penalised. Warriors score next set.
Why is one infringement an automatic penalty, yet the other is a sometimes penalty? Both are illegal, and both negatively impacted the non-infringing side. Had the marker been pushed over defending his try line, it definitely would have been a penalty. Why does the position on the field matter? Why are teams in possession of the ball allowed to retain possession when they push over markers or play the ball off the mark? These are penalty offenses.
On top of that Lodge was put on report for something after the fact, and no penalty recorded.
So should have been a 6-2 count, which is still lopsided, and not reflective of the game. Some of the high tackle penalties are embarrassing for the game (although not isolated to this match).
Anyway, thought the Panthers were fairly ordinary for most of the match, and reckon it would have been a real contest if the Warriors had a bench. Happy to get the win, and will be happier when Luai and Cleary get back.
