The Broncos simply didn't respect possession. .
Corey Parker is furious

Besides Milford being the worst half in the comp our problems are the same as last year, poor ball control which constantly gifts field position to the opposition and on the flip side doesn't put any pressure on their defence.
Roberts ended playing origin as a broncoBroncos: a place where talent goes to die.
Alumni: Milford, bird, Barba, Roberts
The difference between us Broncos fans constant looking down our noses at your shit clubs and being merkins in general about our greatness and your shitness, and the reverse that's happening now, is we EARNED THE RIGHT to laugh at your little clubs and their worthless fans. All youse've managed to do is still exist while a healthy correction is taking place, a recession we had to have if you will.
The Broncos created the NRL and have provided it with 100% of its memorable moments INCLUDING OVER THE LAST 12 MONTHS/15 YEARS so how about we all listen to Corey Parker and show the Broncos some ruddy respect.
He peaked before that. Quickly turned to mush in brissyRoberts ended playing origin as a bronco
A system like that definatley makes a difference. Even if their form is a bit off, have the fumbles for game, have a niggle thats effecting their impact etc one thing you can never call blokes like proctor, tolman, etc is lazyEffort areas are shit.
The squad is predominantly made up by young blokes - particularly of Pacifika background - who absolutely killed their opposition coming up through junior pathways. I don't think they understand the meaning of effort areas without the ball because they never needed to demonstrate it coming through the grades. They just steamrolled the opposition with their size and ability. A lot of these young guys are/were absolute teenage man-mountains.
Re effort - Seibold has tried to enforce it. Walters is trying to enforce it. It's not getting through to a lot of these guys that things like markers applying pressure, filling in the space, quick retreat the 10, line speed, and kick chase +2 in defence are poor. Just last night, GC would make easy metres in yardage attack bringing the ball back out from inside their 20 after a kick. That just shouldn't happen.
And then aiming to get QPTB, and push supports in attack to create time, space and put the opposing defences in two minds doesn't happen either with this broncos team.
The difference between the two teams was highlighted when Tino F would chase hard on a Taylor or Fogarty kick into the in-goal. A try wouldn't be scored but the effort to apply pressure was always there. He came from a system in Melbourne that put big onus on effort areas, it's been ingrained into the way he plays, and he's taken it with him to GC.

We must all remain strong through this dark period. We mustn't allow pity to overtake our joyous moments of ridicule for this club (& it's supporters) who have historically been blessed and now are finally experiencing what every other club and supporter base has gone through. And long may it continue.
All true. But's it's hard to do all these things when they are constantly trying to defend mistakes from dropped ball. Fix up the ball security and the effort areas will come. If they can start hanging onto the pill i reckon they can get to the 12-14th area on the table but keep turning over possession and another spoon is beckoning.Effort areas are shit.

Absolutely nailed it. I remember watching an old Footy Show years ago. They were interviewing Paul Langmack. Now, don’t get me wrong Langers was a terrible coach but a great player. They were talking to him about natural footy ability and he said something along the lines of, there’s plenty of blokes in their twenties sitting on a bar stool drinking their 10th schooner with a huge beer gut. They could play and were natural footy players but did not want to do the hard work at training etc and failed at their NRL careers due to this poor attitude.Effort areas are shit.
