Which halfback would you have ahead of him?
Not sure if I’d have any halfback ahead of him. But there’s better players running around, players who thrive in pressure games and don’t go missing.

In terms of the halfbacks Reynolds offers about the same as Cleary in attack but is not as good defensively.

Moses, Johnson and DCE offer more in attack than Cleary but admittedly aren’t as consistent.
Put any of the above 4 players in the Penrith squad and they’d do as well as Cleary does.

Cleary does his job and has great kicking and support play. He has limitations though. Isn’t particularly creative and is an average ball player.

When you make these sort of pronouncements right after he's led his side to a convincing win over your side, having controlled the side skilfully, you've got to understand it may be seen as sour grapes.
