If you have to cherry-pick the period of time to try to suit your agenda then you've officially lost the argument. It's all or nothing Joe, whether you like it or not. FOREVER IN OUR SHADOW.

Absolutely mate! The lack of sunlight has played havoc with their already low IQs because they are (and always will be) FOREVER IN OUR SHADOW!!!!
Plenty of Sun on our side of Anzac Parade -your side is all doom and gloom - I used to feel sorry for Rabbit supporters sitting through season after season of premiership droughts(mmm not really) - 43 years to win another one after your last in 1971.

Always funny at Redfern oval as a visiting supporter the Rabbit supporters would be frothing at the mouth trying to upset the upper class Chook supporters- how many latte's have you had / where my paper bag of money / Ronnie Jones pays the Refs

Chook were in 10 Grandfinals during that period and added 2 more in 2018/2019 to make it 12.

Getting too windy so have to close your premiership window by the looks of it.

Maybe only another 36 years for your next premiership based on the previous gap between premierships.

Enjoy the wait

You were not alive during most of these premierships though - 1971 second last one - you would have to be late 50's to remember it.

The 12 Chook have been in from 1972 to 2019 i have attended them all in person.

One can say i have seen my team in more Grandfinals than you - including Craven mild pre-season/Amco and National Panasonic Finals.

I remember Bob McCarthy trialing with Chook in the pre-season comp in 1979 - Fulton had to tell him your times up and he should give it away - Why he so dislikes Chook I assume as it ended his career.

Spin it however you like. The fact remains the record books list us as having 21 Premierships, considerably more than your mob despite their efforts to try to buy success. 2nd best is all you can ever hope to be.

If we sign him, he'll be 30 in his first season with us.

Mansour - another one

So it just discredits what Solly said about Adam Reynolds not getting more than a one year deal.

We'll see if this also applies to Cody Walker - his contract is up at the end of next season.

I don't believe you’ll find a quote from Blake Solly saying there’s a hard & fast rule or policy on age etc
My understanding is it’s a case by case situation
im guessing the club would always be looking for that little diamond in the rough ala Tuquiri, just to tide us over until a player coming through is ready & probably not on a long term deal & certainly nowhere near at overs
If we’re referring it to Reynolds, he obviously wanted a few years on good money, we have players coming through, Adam got a better deal, that’s the salary cap in action

Our problem which if you believe the club is we had 1.2 m to resign 10 players so didnt have enough to purchase expensive players and now we have saved 700 AR gags money suas money, cooks money and whoever else, we can spend cheap to replace some, chee kam ,milf as eg, but id love suli, i dont believe the sims rumour is real he played origin and wouldnt come cheaper than sua.

This is all speculation, i don’t believe the club has gone into salary cap detail, unless you have quotes that I haven’t seen, if you have, I apologise, but it seems to me that whispers & rumours have quickly become fact, the more it gets passed along, the more it gets embellished

I would believe Robinson myself as he's not afraid to call a spade a spade so why would he be worried about saying something to a soon to be ex Rabbit if he did.

I suspect Rabbit trying to deflect away from a player discipline problem they have- if he spoke to Bennett about it as the article is alluding too no doubt Bennett would have said something at the press conference about it.

Pure fabrication

must you come in here with you & your clubs racism? I see what you’ve done there, it hasn’t gone unnoticed, the fact that Mr Sua is Polynesian & your use of wording is disgusting, you certainly live up to your nickname Joseph, one can only wonder what motivates your attacks on Mr Mitchell
can somebody get this racist oaf banned please? This kind of overt racism is disgusting

Look,

Gagai - I get that
Sua - No problem
Doueihi - Understandably
Allan - no argument
Johnston - they backtracked on what would have been a big f...up
Reynolds - I still don't understand why they didn't come to the party on a two year deal, the offer would have gotten over the line.

Anyway, what's done is done, we just need to go all the way to send him off right.

I think we would have had to pay up a good amount for Reynolds & we may have lost Taaffe & or Illias
I also suspect that AR has been intent on moving his family north away from Sydney at some stage anyway, his best mate has moved up there too which makes things easier

Any concrete evidence to back up your claim Reyno was thinking about moving North? (Just a feeling doesn't qualify as actual evidence)

Exactly!!! I'd been trying to preach this throughout the whole Reynolds saga. Not once has Solly come out and said "we're only going to offer players over 30 one year deals from now on," not once.

It's made up BS in my opinion. As you say, it will be a case by case thing.

Agree, I think age 30 is more a ballpark figure rather than one that is set in stone.

Late-night text from Roosters official and former ref at heart of NRL fury

By Adam Pengilly and Christian Nicolussi
August 30, 2021 — 7.45pm

A former referee who now acts as the Roosters’ football manager is among the people who allegedly hurled sideline abuse at match officials and followed up with a late-night text message to NRL referees boss Jared Maxwell.

The NRL fined the Roosters and coach Trent Robinson a staggering $40,000 for stinging post-match comments about the officiating and alleged sideline transgressions by other club officials, as the fallout from their loss to bitter rivals South Sydney continued.

NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo accused the tricolours of a “lack of professionalism” during and after the match, which was blighted by a sickening high shot from Rabbitohs star Latrell Mitchell on former teammate Joseph Manu.

Both their seasons are over: Mitchell will serve a six-game suspension while Manu underwent surgery to repair a depressed fracture of a cheekbone.

The NRL issued the Roosters with a breach notice on Monday proposing the heavy penalty, which included a $10,000 fine “for the abuse or harassment of match officials by club officials” and threats to revoke sideline access.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the taunts came from a number of different Roosters officials and were directed at several people, including standby referee Matt Cecchin and the head injury assessment official. Cecchin is believed to have moved his seat at one stage in the second half.

Football manager Chris James is among the officials under scrutiny for their behaviour on the sideline, and followed up with a text message to his former colleague Maxwell after the game, denigrating the performance of the match officials.

James officiated in 228 NRL games as a referee himself. He settled an unfair dismissal case in 2018 with the NRL after an abrupt exit from the elite referees squad, and was praised at the time by the Professional Rugby League Match Officials “for taking the brave step of pursuing this matter”.

James could not be contacted for comment on Monday night.

The NRL took a dim view of the Roosters’ actions and the example it could set for parents and junior league coaches, alleging the abuse started well before Mitchell’s tackle on Manu brought the game to boiling point.

The NRL admitted on Saturday bunker official Henry Perenara should have advised referee Ashley Klein to send off Mitchell rather than use the sin-bin.

The Roosters were understood to have been furious with an ugly Liam Knight hip drop tackle which forced Siosiua Taukeiaho to the sideline with a knee injury. Knight was penalised at the time and will miss two matches after being charged by the match review committee. Taukeiaho has been cleared of serious injury.

Robinson, who coached from the sideline in the second half, labelled the officiating “an absolute farce and laughable” in his post-match press conference.

Robinson will invoke a $10,000 suspended fine for comments he made after the Roosters’ loss against the Eels in May if he’s found to have breached the NRL rules regarding public commentary on match officials.

‘In our view there was a lack of professionalism shown by the club and its officials across Friday night.’
Andrew Abdo
In a season where they’ve bravely battled to stay in top four contention despite an unprecedented injury toll, frustration finally seemed to overcome the Roosters. Most notably, James Tedesco and Drew Hutchison had already been victims of serious foul play earlier this year which the NRL said should have been punished more sternly.

“Sport can be highly emotional and sometimes people will debate decisions made on the field and we expect all clubs to deal with on-field matters respectfully,” Abdo said.

“We can analyse and debate decisions, but such commentary should not be personalised and disrespectful. In our view there was a lack of professionalism shown by the club and its officials across Friday night. We’re an elite competition and we should set the standard for how to deal with adversity.

“There is no place for the abuse or harassment of match officials by club officials on the sideline. It’s not tolerated in community sport and it’s certainly not tolerated in elite sport. It is important that at the highest level all club officials control their emotions and set an example to everyone in our sport.

“We will not hesitate to remove the sideline access of any official who repeatedly makes abusive comments towards our match officials.”

The club has five days to respond to the breach notice.

Robinson hit back at claims he had abused Souths back rower Jaydn Su’A at half-time.“Definitely not true,” Robinson told the Herald on Monday night.

Su’A did not lodge a formal complaint, therefore the NRL did not officially investigate the allegation.

Souths CEO Blake Solly said: “If we have any concerns we will address them privately with the NRL and through the appropriate processes.”

The NRL said it hadn’t finished an investigation into whether sidelined prop Jared Warea-Hargreaves had an altercation with a Nine cameraman during the game.

NRL head of football Graham Annesley denied whistleblowers or bunker officials weren’t being held accountable for mistakes being made.

“In some cases their judgment is not what we would expect it to be and as administrators we have to respond to that,” he said.

“I often hear referees aren’t accountable, I think seven referees have been dropped this year. Bunker officials have been replaced this year. There’s no lack of accountability for the performance of these officials.”

I saw that interview, and I read his interview the day before, Corey Parker has been making every excuse he can pull out of his arse to defend JWH and the Roosters reaction on the bench, which they shouldn't have been there in the first place. He's become their apologist.

If the NRL don't suspend JWH for assaulting the cameraman, when the cameraman has officially complained to the NRL, especially after George Burgess got suspended for 2 weeks, including an elimination final, for throwing a plastic water bottle, the next meeting will be a bloodbath, the NRL will have culpability and blood on their hands.

And WTF is the Mole? Latrell wasn't going to be a captain, it's only between Cam, Cody and Cookie. How many more captains do we need? This ain't the public service. What a BS story. How can I get paid writing useless garbage like this? Even Joe Stalin's posts here have more insight than this primary school piece.
