I have read on other sites that Reyno wanted to move to QLD when his career was over and that's probably why he chose the broncos over the sharks, his house in Roseberry is now listed for sale in September.

Exactly!!! I'd been trying to preach this throughout the whole Reynolds saga. Not once has Solly come out and said "we're only going to offer players over 30 one year deals from now on," not once.

It's made up BS in my opinion. As you say, it will be a case by case thing.

Solly said to me when I spoke to him on the phone and my old man that due to the club being burnt re the Sam and GI situations that we won’t be offering over 30 year olds more than 1 year deals and he said the same would be happening for Cody and he was confident Cody would accept it. We had a phone conference with him earlier this year.

It was obvious to us he was lying. Lying to your diehard members is not a good thing and he didn’t seem to speak too highly of Adam. Anyway Solly will see next year when we slide.

However, I'd take a comment like that with a grain of salt personally. He was probably just saying stuff like that to please you at the time and to justify Reyno departing. I highly doubt he'd be having contract discussions like this with a random member who isn't involved with the inner workings of the club. I mean no offence by that either bro, don't take that the wrong way. You get what I mean.

Why would you get on the blower thinking you’re owed an explanation about signings & retention? What kind of deluded sense of importance makes you think you’re owed any information like that? As if you’d know better than the staff who work with the players nearly every day & plan very carefully how the squad will take shape?
I can only imagine how pained Blake was to do it, full credit for treating them with some kind of dignity
