Can't believe that no one else has picked up on this as it's potentially big news. But the boys on this week's episode of Rabbitohs Radio have said that Brent Read is reporting that next week, we will offer Reyno two years and he will happily agree to it. If that's true, then that is friggin fantastic news!!! Surprised it hasn't hit mainstream media yet.

Also, a few rumours have started to do the rounds that Wayne will remain with us after this year in an overseeing role. Now, that would obviously also be friggin fantastic news if true but I don't give the story a lot of credit as it was only mentioned very briefly at the end of a Fox Sports article. It said, "Wayne Bennett is set to move upstairs into South Sydney’s football department in this year, which is expected to be his last as the Rabbitohs’ head coach."

Like I say, this would be amazingly good news but I don't give it too much credit yet as it's kind of a throw away line at the end of an article. Wayne's future is big news so you'd think if this had some real legs behind it, it'd be all over the news by now.

Hoping but not expecting at this stage.

This needs to happen. Throw big money at Wayne as he is one of the best man managers in the game.

The important word is 'acquitted'. The court hasn't ruled that Sam didn't intimidate Hooke, it ruled that it can't be proven whether he did or not.
Overturned on appeal = aquitted
Aquitted = not guilty

It was not the court's job to say whether he didn't intimidate Hooke. It was the court's job to rule whether the police were able to prove their charges.

The appeals courts ruled that charge could not be proven, therefore yhe charge can not be sustained.

This was a corrupt witch hunt from the beginning.

How come Hooke didn't get charged with making threats? That's what Sam is contending

All of that is accurate. However it does not mean that Sam is innocent.

"It is a case of the word of Mr Burgess against the word of Mr Hooke," Justice Williams said.

To quote Fred Durst... "It's all about the he-says, she-says bullshit"

In not such good news,

Bunnies not budging on Reynolds offer

SOUTH Sydney isn’t planning to up its one-year contract extension to halfback Adam Reynolds, which now leaves the Rabbitohs skipper with a huge decision to make.

Reynolds has made it clear he wants a multi-year deal — up to three years

— but would be willing to accept a twoyear contract having already rejected the club’s one-year proposal.

The one-year extension was put on the table two weeks ago but there has been little movement since then as the club stands firm.

There was some suggestion the Rabbitohs were preparing to offer Reynolds a two-year deal — or at least a oneyear deal with an option for a second year in their favour — but it is understood that is unlikely at this stage.

Reynolds originally said he was preparing to meet with the club again last week.

That meeting has yet to happen and there is nothing scheduled in the short-term.

So at 30, Reynolds is at the crossroads and faces the prospect of leaving his junior club unless he is prepared to take a year-on-year deal or the Rabbitohs have a dramatic change of heart.

Already burnt by rich payouts to Greg Inglis and Sam Burgess, who failed to play out their deals, the Rabbitohs are taking a conservative approach with their skipper.

Sam Burgess conviction overturned on appeal.

Of course it would and should. No witnesses but Sam is "big and dangerous" and his story "changeable" but that old azzzhole never said a single threat or bad thing?

Yeah right.......
Never had a doubt,as ive written here before, all contrived to malign and discredit and ruin sams post league career. Truth has prevailed and those that think they are entitled, too big for their britches, imagine, a man of such power trembling in his boots, hogwash.

Honestly, who knows what's happening with Reyno anymore? As I mentioned earlier, the Rabbitohs Radio boys said Brent read was reporting he'll meet with the club next week, be offered two years and will accept it but now, we get articles like this. So who know's what's happening.

I'll tell you one thing though, I'll be bitterly disappointed and extremely angry if Souths don't offer him two years and he ends up leaving. It's a no brainer in my opinion.

Agree. Only John Sutton should be held in higher regard by the the club and it's supporters. Using the Sam and GI situations as an excuse is a cop out from the club. He'll be 33 when a two year extension expires.

I agree, but there is precedent, many greats go to a yearly contract in the twighlight of their careers, they dont want to but unless they want to leave accept it, take eg corey parker, same happened to him, AR should just accept it, greens been on yearly contracts now for 5 years, otherwise st george are just down the road and taafe can start learning first grade, its RL reality, did anyone see brandys and kentys altercation on nrl360, brandy was right its a business, weve paid out millions to 2 players, that has financially hurt the club, we dont want it to happen again, imagine if at 29 we gave nathan merrit a 3 year deal, if anyone remembers for some reason soon as he hit 30 he lost all his speed and retired. Its a crying shame i agree but he, AR, has been looked after at souths, now maybe he looks after the club, its harsh.

Conflicting reports. We can only hope the Brent Read report is the right one. I'm definitely with you in that I too will be devastated if he leaves. We've just got to be like Oddball in Kelly's Heroes and send out those "positive waves"
