You do know they had no reserves for the whole 2nd half?

Yeah Baz, I’m well aware. I’m also aware we lost Moses during the game and Sivo for a chunk, not to mention Matto and Blake missing. We barely got out of second gear and put them away. Room for improvement, sure. But happy enough. You don’t seem to be?

Mate, I am extremely happy.

I just think the sharks deserve some credit as well.

I don’t think he has it in him. He’s not a creator. He has good footwork, speed and amazing defence. I’ve been saying it for a while but his best position isn’t in the halves.
I think we've seen flashes of those skills, much like Mahoney prior to this year. Drown just needs to improve his decision making and confidence and then I think we'll see an explosion in his attacking output.

But I agree the halves aren't his best position, at least at this stage.

Sorry, on second thoughts I was wrong. Too late for me.

Those two years he had Moses on his inside. It's a lot easier defending outside Dylan Brown.

Waqa was the worst defending centre last year. Ran out of the line like a headless goose each and every time the play went down his side. All this while moses improved his defense.

To support your theory, how’d waqa go when Moses was out with his calf injury?

Few years back game would be lot closer Result we may even lose that. Sharks knew they had no bench in the 2nd half so had to throw the kitchen sink at us that first 20min, hoping we would fold before they run out of puff. We didnt fold , they ran out of puff. Most sides would have had their sort of strategy, as it was the only strategy

As a few have mentioned we needed to be patient then points would come, and they did

Would have been a bigger margin had we completed like we did against the Storm, and cut down the dumb errors, but it is what it is. Solid win. Move on

Mahoney is one fit bastard. He can easily play the 80 regularly for mine. Just need to monitor him for burnout during the year and give him some time off in games when we are up by plenty. Never shirks his defence, and his service from dummy half has stepped up a level, very crisp.

Hope we end up signing Fergo for another year, though I think Dunster may have his spot and will be cheaper

I think hiney111 mentioned us and pace, Opacic is solid and a good squad member. Not sure permanent centre is the way to go with him. However if everyone else plays to their potential, then it wont matter as much. Though Peninisi may get a crack at some stage

What did everyone think of Niukore? At the game, I felt he was good defensively but not much in attack. He did do a flick pass for Blake 1st try.

Before Moses went off, I was frustrated that our shape still looked clunky. Tackle 4 and 5 plays are not even in the same ballpark as the bunnies. I know it’s hard when you compare with the best, but we struggle to put centres and wingers in space and the repeat set from grubber is an underused skill. It’s only when Gutho drops in that we are hitting the ball with pace and putting their edge on their heels.
