Bangladesh 🇧🇩 v South Africa 🇿🇦 first up. If SA win it makes it just that much harder for Australia with England already wrapping up top spot in the group.

Namibia 🇳🇦 v Pakistan 🇵🇰 next. If Namibia win then there will be a stewards enquiry.

Bangladesh 84 were slaughtered by SA 4/86.

Pakistan put up a massive 2/189, Namibia did well to get to 5/144.

New Zealand 🇳🇿 v Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 tonight in a wee little battle.

Afghanistan 🇦🇫 v India 🇮🇳. Let's gone Afghanistan.

Babar is terrific in all formats, up there with the elite imo

Be great if the Afghanis could get over India, and then I think it's be winner take all between them and us (assuming we can get over the Scots)

In the battle for the semis both England and Pakistan are through as top of their respective groups.

Australia or South Africa will join England from group 2. Australia has 2 games left against a diabolical Bangladesh and then a shambolic West Indies. SA play England.
If SA beat England or we lose one (or both) of our games Australia is out. Australia basically needs to win both games.

A bit more complicated in group 2. All 5 teams under Pakistan are technically able to qualify although Afghanistan or New Zealand look the most likely.

I can see poms beating SA

I can also see us dropping our dacks v WI last game before the semis

Which means we would need a higher NRR than SA to go through

Which is highly unlikely , unless we beat Bangers with 12 overs to spare or something ludicrous like that

For whats it worth , I think our world cup ends this coming Saturday night

# silver lining - more time to prepare for ashes

Pretty hilarious that - they had their dustbowl wins against a bits and pieces Australia and then NZ B, and thought somehow they were good

Good news for the aussies tomorrow night (and NRR if we win)

If history is any indication...

They still have Australia to play later this week, but already the tournament feels too long for Bangladesh. This is usually how ICC events have ended for them. For many years, there have been reports of Bangladesh feeling homesick during long tours, particularly at ICC tournaments. Bangladesh had a poor ending to a bright 2007 World Cup in West Indies. They finished their 2015 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy meekly. New Zealand stuffed them in their last match in the 2016 T20 World Cup. They ended the 2019 World Cup with huge defeats, too
