Typical trial. Ordinary defence. Disorganised attack. Some individual flashes of brilliance.

For the Sharks, Metcalf showed promise in attack with a few try assists. Wilton looks stronger.

It’s sad being at that age when you’ve lived long enough to see the son play of a bloke who played NRL over 20 years ago

Bit disappointed by Vasquez, Magoulias, MacDonald, but not surprised tho.
Trindall didn’t take the opportunity to step up either, in saying that every player out there tonight hasn’t had much footy in general over the past 18 months. Should see massive improvements in every player in 6 months.

Metcalfe was good
MacDonald was terrible
Magoulis didn’t really stand out
Hamlin was energetic off the bench
Pele showed he is a long way from NRL. With the ball sure, but defensively he was slow and a yard or two off the ball

In case you missed it:

A full on fist fight over bad passing at training.

Seems more shark-like than us, something you blokes would endorse. Roy Masters era someone said.

Hamlin went alright in the games he played for Wigan - bit small, but high energy and effort. Would go alright as a fill in for if we have any major injury issues at any point.

Perhaps that smaller mobile forward has a place in the new game. Good to see how he goes for the Jets.

He was alright for Wigan IMO, but there was a clear disconnect between how he wanted to play - trying to get extra yards at every attempt, rather than playing how Wane wanted him to play - Hit the ground early for a quicker play the ball.

Obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, claimed the cocaine in his system that lead to his 2 year ban & release was from kissing a girl on a night out. Glad to see he's been given a second chance somewhere though.
