I have to agree. Both have been much improved, and very consistent. Consistent doesn't win you finals games, as it is unlikely the other team will not be up for the game. I just don't think either of them have another gear.
Sharks absolutely have a gear. Fitz would have a learnt a thing from Robbo in timing your runs and finals prep imo.

Finucane back with all his finals experience too.

No means are Sharks a lock but find it funny people writing off a team that finished second. Meanwhile you've got the Roosters, Souths and Storm and Eels all bashing each other.

I'm genuinely interested to know what you have seen form these 2 teams this year that suggests the loser will beat Roosters/Souths and then Penrith/Parra to get to the GF as well as the winner beating Penrith/Parra/Storm in a prelim.

I would be stunned if both of those things happened. Parra/Penrith is a far greater chance of being the GF rematch from week 1 IMO.
Sharks finished the season with 11/12 wins the loss was to Penrith. Beating storm cowboys souths in that run and also had the 2nd best defence over the 2nd half of the season.

Additionally fitz has played some games for the last month. I know it

Reckon south’s get done by roosters then cows at home eliminate roosters.

I think Sharks/Cows have been turning in 7/10 - 8.5/10 every week. Teams that fluctuate between 4/10 & 9.5/10 will be under the pump to win 3 or 4 games on the trot, but if they play well, I don't think Sharks/Cows can beat them. Time will tell.

Even if I agree with you which I don't, that is only one half of the puzzle. I am referring to the prospect of a rematch in the GF. IMO the loser are underdogs next week let alone the following week. The winner also goes in as underdogs in their prelim unless they play canberra. Both teams making their way to the GF means that between them, they would have to eliminate 3 of penrith/parra/storm/roosters/souths which seems a rank outsider to me.

My reasoning for this is that IMO both teams records are inflated by 2-3 wins compared to the other top 8 teams due to a softer draw. I have seen nothing at all from either team that suggests to me they are better than the 4 teams immediately ranked below them. Perhaps they will prove me wrong but I doubt it.

Souths aren't a threat IMO, both Cowboys and Sharks will account for them. Roosters will be a lot tougher but I feel two games in a row against their arch rivals could take a toll on them come week 2 of finals. Cowboys could handle a beaten up Roosters team up in Townsville easily.

I think the cowboys and sharks are 2 clubs that don’t have a player that is critical to their performance. Souths, roosters and storm all do.

I've seen enough 😉

The rest are beatable. Very open finals series.

I feel this is a very weak qualifying final. In fact I predict neither team will make the grand final. I rate Panthers, Eels, Storm, Souths and Easts above them.

I predict Cronulla to win, and then both teams to lose their next matches and be eliminated.
Awesome....will load up on both the Cows and Sharks to win the comp then.

Why?? Because they aren't the ' name ' teams like Easts and Melbourne and souths and Penrith. U know the club's that people like you and the media think are the only ones that exists

Sydney centricism. Anyway, I've gone for a Cows win, and win comfortably by 24-12.

I can see the Sharks swarming the Cowboys like they did earlier in the year and just suffocating them out of the contest.
Having said that both teams have had awesome seasons and I'm absolutely jealous of their success in 2022.

Ah yeah the Cowboys team missing 6 Origin squad players. If the Sharks are expecting that game again they'll be in for a rude shock.
