That's a try, but interesting that a black and white rule is not black and white on this occasion

I mean it still is.

Cleary made a defensive decision to throw his arm out and pull the back pike triple somersault.

Absolutely not. Outside shoulder contact with the defender, black and white is not black and white at all.

*Outside arm

Which Cleary threw out. Could have been penalised for taking a man off the ball if they hadn't scored

Cleary initiated contact, sure enough, but under the rules we've been following for a few years now Edwards was obstructed. Not that it matters.

Revisionist bullshit. Been called that way this season consistently with a black and white mantra as justification, outside shoulder contact with the defender, Wighton’s three or four weeks ago being the most egregious and far less in the grey than this tonight.

The good thing about this loss for the Roosters it shows the areas they can work on. Once they get Smith next season they will be a contender.
Hooker has been a hard position to fill for them since Friend retired.

You’re acting like it hasn’t been called this way all season, black and white, revisionist bullshit.

You're acting like they've never acknowledged a defensive (arguable that was Cleary's intent in this case, given the dive) decision.

Seems a pointless discussion.

Well, we fully know who the NSW halves and lock will be. Just a matter of wondering whether they will pick Api as hooker.

Wighton’s was a defensive decision, didn’t matter, as they cited, outside shoulder contact with the defender.
