No worries
Im sure putting the obstruction rule back in the hands of the bunker to interpret will work out extremely well! It always does

Yeah no that'll be shot but to be fair they've always had the discretion in calls like that where the defender takes the steps towards a decoy who has stopped and initiates the contact

They just normally f**k it up the other way

What exactly was he obstructed from? Capewell didn't get to the line, and Hughes stepped into him and then fell over from the lightest touch

acting or not, he was impeded. I thought that was the black and white deal we had come to on obstructions

He was clearly obstructed, that he exaggerated it doesnt change that fact. If we're going BACK to "common sense" and interpretations... well let me give you a spoiler alert, that will only end in raging inconsistency
There's been a few times this year where the runner has stopped in the line and gotten away with it. It used to be a penalty more often than not.

They've taken a very black and white view... stop in the line, obstruct a defender and its over. That's it, its easy and simple. It's not always perfect but at least it's consistent.

I honestly think that is the ONLY way to get consistency out of this rule... once the bunker starts to veer beyond that, we get the frustration of inconsistency game to game and in game because it's now one persons interpretation of what happened.

I think going away from black on white on this is a step back.
