After the last few years I decided to step away from watching the NRL for the benefit of my own personal wellbeing.

Today was the first game I watched in full for months.

The only thing I learned today is that my time is better spent doing other things.

This should concern the NRL since I was a regular viewer for decades.

I feel you, it's pretty much dead to me too. My time could be better spent, and it is.

Feldt milked it, anyhow every player tries these days. The problem lies with the stupid officials who get sucked into believing it & blow a set restart, penalty etc etc. The useless officials have no feel for the game at all & the officiating has been dictating results for years now.
It stinks badly & isn't a good look for our game at all.

And at the same time, the refs and bunkers are under enough pressure to get things right, regardless of where each of these sides are on the ladder.

Yeah he milked it, 100%. But that doesn't negate the fact that the Tigers player may have changed his line and got in Feldt's road, which gives the chance there's going to be a penalty.

I don't know the ruling in regards to the ref calling play on at the time and whether it couldn't be ruled on by the Bunker.

We’ve now played 2 Qld teams away and lost to both in comical fashion after fulltime. Can’t wait for the Donkeys away on Saturday.

I really don't much care anymore. Why bother investing emotionally or financially. It's a gauranteed set outcome.

And again, if the bunker told the ref to award a penalty, he would have - although that’s a level of involvement I don’t think the bunker should be having. There would be no need for a challenge.

Allowing the challenge was incorrect by rule. There was no opportunity to challenge in that circumstance.

I take it now that time had run out, So can a penalty can be awarded during a normal time indiscretion (I.E. kicked ball in air, player gets taken out...penalty)...after time had ran out ? This is my take on it.

Yeah fair enough. As far as I'm aware the challenge shouldn't have been allowed to happen at all. Why didn't the Mongo headed ref just say that the bunker was looking at a possible escort on Feldt?

When? It's been 11 years since we even played in the semis. Our playing roster is built around Luke Brooks. Our management is incapable of identifying or retaining talent.

My personal investment has trickled away from attending each week to barely remembering to renew an out of towner membership. Shit, I don't even bother to tune in much anymore. And all this stems back to a playing group and management that consists of people who don't really seem to give a damn, so I've simply followed their example.

That's what should have alarm bells ringing for the club - people aren't even angry or upset anymore. They feel nothing.

It's a very simple equation for me. Would I spend my time inviting frustration and failure by watching this club or do something productive?
