Gold Coast have the nucleus of a good team, but they let themselves down by not playing 80 minutes and having flimsy defence. With the star-studded roster they have put together with talented youth they should be the best of the Queensland teams over the next five years, but they could finish below them if they don't sort out their defence. My mob, the Cowboys, are mediocre in attack but have thrown their bodies at everything in defence this year and it's put them in a stronger position than the Titans.
Doesn’t help that the average age of their spine is about 15. Brimson in the halves I’ll never understand, moving an origin fullback to 5/8 just to accomodate Campbell who is still at least 10kg too small for first grade. Their biggest problem though is they still don’t have a hooker

Theyve spent all their money on forwards leaving little for the spine. Dumb recruitment,

Didn’t the ball go backwards

We see this so much now where any dropped ball in a tackle is now an automatic knock on, whether it went forwards or backwards

I’ll say this, it’s one of few areas they’re pretty consistent in. Drops like that one are ALWAYS called knock ons now. But you’re 100% correct that the ball went backwards
