"If the reports of his (Suli) move to the Dragons are accurate, it would be another smart play by Anthony Griffin , Ian Millward and Ben Haran. The club already have other clubs chipping in for the salaries of multiple players in 2021 including Jack Bird , Josh McGuire and Andrew McCullough, and they aren't stopping there."

..and now Mbye. No wonder they recruited these blokes. A bit of fancy bookeeping or thieves in the nite.
You do know there is a Negative ONLY thread don't you?

Just off topic who would have thought our boy Price would have been was hot property ...... https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/abdf35f0f2199a6e57c56e71909f8da9
Good on Steve Price & he’s got himself a decent resume.
2 NRL premierships as an assistant plus some valuable experience & success in ESL.
He’s near a Professor compared to the Peanut whom stuck the knife deep in his back at our joint.
Fitzgibbon, Price & Hannay will make a very formidable coaching team and take the Sharks upwards & quick.

Agree with your comments. Maybe Price was simply not ready to be a head coach when he took over from Bennett or he is not cut out to be a head coach. Maybe his role in life is to be a very good assistant coach. Although head coaches usually take all the credit, you will find they have excellent assistants working with them.

I believe he was thrown in at the deep end by our club, before his time and then given 2 crap assistants in Millward & McGregor.
Is it any wonder he struggled with those anchors around his legs.

Suli's stellar attacking performance had all the hallmarks of an audition for the Dragons. According to Bulldog Ritchie, Des is known for sticking solid with his favourites and Parker seems to be one of those-so maybe, this time, Suli has come to terms with reality and is prepared to make the change. Of course, Suli may not be as strong in other areas of centre but atm, we need some x factor in attack to replace what we've lost in Dufty.

I know that this will probably not happen but along with the already confirmed departures of:
- Matt Dufty
- Corey Norman
- Brayden Williame
- Kaide Ellis
- Jordan Periera
- Cameron McInnes
- Hayden Lomax
- Adam Clune *
- Billy Brittain *

We should also IMO tell these players to f**k off with them
- Jackson Ford
- Daniel Alvaro
- Gerard Beale
- Jayden Hunt
- Josh Kerr

I'd keep Ford and Kerr as depth players. Handy backups if our top 20 or so players go down.

I'd be keeping Faamasili. I thought he showed enthusiasm and aggression in the few minutes he actually played. This is what we need compared to a lot of the spuds we now have as forwards. So, I can't understand why he's not been given more time on the field but I reckon he is worth persevering with and worth developing. IMO.

With all due respect possm, you can't find place for Sloan or Ravalawa? We've been crying out for points for years. Young Tyrell stepped up and had no qualms finding points and then was for some reason exiled by the coach. Mbye himself knows he is just a fill in utility. Rava must be our leading try scorer per game for the last few seasons and has the strength that Ramsey will never have.

1. Sloan
2. Matt Feagai
3. Bird (unless we can nab Suli for next year)
4. Lomax
5. Ravalawa
6. Amone
7. Hunt

I like Sloan too and think he has shown promise in first grade to date but I know you're constantly scratching your head as to why he hasn't had a game since Souths.

Yes he scored a nice try but he only ran for 62 meters, missed 7 of 16 tackles and made 3 errors, so perhaps there is a reason as to why he hasn't played since.

I hope he has been given some helpful direction on how he can improve and what he needs to work on to be a consistent feature at fullback in our first grade side.

I'd keep Ford - he has another year to show something.
J Hunt hasn't really played enough to be on the eject list; surely?

Funny with Sloan.. Glad you see it.. in his first couple of games he’s let bombs bounce, and had a few bad reads..

but we hear “great game” and “this is why he should be here instead of dufty”

Yet dufty has a good game and people are hounding him for “dropping bombs” (which he hasn’t.. today’s was the first since a while) or “poor defensive reads”..

Hopefully Sloan steps up and makes the spot his..

but I feel like he’s only a few mistakes away from the mob turning their pitchforks towards him.. (Remember when Ramsay was “the future”)

Perception & mob mentality plays a massive role on here..

I’ll leave my pitchfork in the cupboard and won’t reach for it unless Sloan is still making the same dumb mistakes in 3 years time like Dufty is.

Dufty: standard dropped bomb with no one near him, poor choice of pass to Lomax which was never on. Great cover tackle on Tedesco over the sideline. Did f**k all for the rest of the game. Overall another standard performance by Dufty. Wish him luck at the bulldogs, better perform quickly with his 1 year contract or he’ll end up in England for 2023.

Ideally, there is a reserve grade comp running and we can play the form players. In these special circumstances I'd be running with Sloan over the Bulldog and the Bird for sure.

It's becoming apparent to me that Griffin doesn't want to stack us with young ones due to their need to learn defence. Fair enough I suppose, he is in the prime position to make the calls. But the team has leaked 35 points on average the last six games so might as well play our future. It's clear none of our players are perfect.

I can't be sold on Dufty > Sloan argument anymore. Something tells me Mbye gets that spot round 1 and a whoop de doo for us.
