Ideally, there is a reserve grade comp running and we can play the form players. In these special circumstances I'd be running with Sloan over the Bulldog and the Bird for sure.

It's becoming apparent to me that Griffin doesn't want to stack us with young ones due to their need to learn defence. Fair enough I suppose, he is in the prime position to make the calls. But the team has leaked 35 points on average the last six games so might as well play our future. It's clear none of our players are perfect.

I can't be sold on Dufty > Sloan argument anymore. Something tells me Mbye gets that spot round 1 and a whoop de doo for us.

I can't get excited about any signing if the coach thinks:

A. Corey Norman is a keeper.
B. Bird is too slow for centre so can play fullback.
C. Sullivan isn't physically ready for the halves so can play hooker

At least it shows the coaching/recruitment staff are taking the season more seriously than the players who clocked off the Friday night after beating the Warriors!

My guess is Lussick to start at Hooker, McGuire back to the front row or lock all else to remain equal with perhaps Sloane coming back in for Dufty.

It shouldn't. It just means Maguire will go back to prop rotation where he belongs and Lussick plays hooker. Jr will play 6, and hopefully, Sloan is at fullback and Bud will either be 7 or 14 (i'm guessing 14). Maguire can shoot into hooker if required.

I think Saab would've had a few opportunities had he stayed. After not being an issue during his time in the lower grades, it was all of a sudden too much travel to the Gong.....or that his manager could get more $$$ elsewhere and they went with that excuse to get a release.

I think it’s a good idea.
Young Bud was subjected to long minutes last week in the middle against some big fellas. I can see Hook managing him so that he’s not getting too knocked around at the moment.
