Bringing on Maxwell in the 7th with them 5 out already was pure idiocy.

Lol paddy, would of caught it on an Alinta ad.
Yeah, I've never understood this tactic captains are obsessed with in white-ball matches of preserving bowlers for the end in situations when a bowler has been dominating the crap out of the opposition. Reminds me of Saturday night, where Trent Boult was taken off after 3 overs.

We needed to knock them over for f**k all, @ 5 for 31 they weren’t going to win it. Try and clean them up for 50 odd.

With all the negativity Funch has been getting in the media re: his poor form (and rightly so), it's amazing that Warner has managed to slip under the radar. I don't know how much longer he'll be able to before his poor form comes under scrutiny.

With all this talk of possibly re-instating him into a leadership position, Warner needs to focus on trying to maintain his spot as opening batsman first. It's quite laughable that in a snippet from an interview they played of him during the broadcast last week vs Sri Lanka, he thinks he'll be there at the next T20 World Cup in 2024!

Australia knows every run counts, yes? Awful tactics and terrible bowling... they were 5/25, letting them score 120+ is criminal

Yes, I agree that Funch needed to go for the kill after Starc's first over. Poor tactics that have become all too commonplace in white-ball cricket these days.

When you're dominating to the extent that Starc was and Boult did a couple of nights ago, keeping the pressure on is a must. Doing what Funch and most other captains have done in that situation - trying to keep overs up your sleeve from the strike bowlers in your team - is a wimpy move. If a captain has to resort to doing this because he doesn't have faith in his other bowlers finishing off the innings if required, then those other bowlers shouldn't be getting selected in the team in the first place.

On a side note, the fact the ball has barely swung or moved off the seam since Starc's first over goes to show how crap the white Kookaburra balls have become. On the rare occasions where the ball has swung in ODIs/T20s, it has only done so for no more than the first few overs of the innings.
