Excellent assessment of the four aforementioned players.*Finch: Im confident he'll never play another game for Australia.
*Warner: I think his form over the next 12 months will determine his future in all three formats of the game. He is struggling.
*Wade: He won't make the next World Cup in two years.
*Smith: If selectors are smart, they should leave Smith for test match and one day cricket. I doubt he makes the world cup in two years.
We do need a new breed of fast bowlers for T20 cricket. The Haze went ok, not so much the others.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: for all the criticism that Finch has copped since over the past couple of months (and rightly so), Warner has managed to slip under the radar with his ordinary, inconsistent performances in white-ball cricket.
Regarding his form against the red ball, Stuart Broad will have another opportunity to make Warner his biatch and end his test career for good if Warner get selected for the 2023 Ashes Tour. Averages only 26 from 13 Ashes tests with the bat in England. Simply cannot handle the swinging Dukes ball. However, before the Ashes Tour, 4 test series in India will put Warner under pressure, considering he only averages 24 with the bat in India.
After tonight, Warner averaging only 9.8 during the Super 12 phase of this T20 World Cup is simply unacceptable. A far cry and shadow of the batsman he was a few years ago. Not getting off to a strong start with a solid opening partnership has put pressure on our middle-order batsmen
