f**k yeah well done KP. To come back and do what he did after all the head knocks was amazing. Do feel bad for Johnson though, he had the more consistent year.

This system is somehow even more screwy than the old one. Ponga had an awesome half year, and that's good enough. But no way he was the best player this year.

Most frudulant Dally M winner since they handed the award to the toofless wonder from LOL@Souffs Jack Wighton. Disgraceful

All seriousness the quickest and easiest formula in this kind of system is to be a stand out player in a very bad team. Doesnt seem like we're actually giving this award to the best player lol

Seriously, this WNRL stuff slows the show painfully down.
it's really just the speeches and the faux suspense they do when they read out the counts.

Not to have a go at the ladies but the Coach of the Year was a Payten tier speech and the winner of the community award had a long as f**k speech too.

It’s run by News limited, of course it’s going to be dodgy. And the 6 point thing just adds to the dodginess.
NRL need to grow a set and run their own award.
In saying that, both Ponga and Johnson had awesome years and dragged their teams from mediocrity to challengers. I think SJ probably deserved it more but Ponga was great over the last 10 or so weeks.

So Hynes is the best halfback?
The system is totally broken!
Did you just figure this out? It's always been broken. Just look at the top 10 - 3 Panthers players taking points off each other. You either have to be truly outstanding in a good team or the best in an average - shit team.
