Lucky to escape with a fine. I don't buy the excuse he thought it was a Broncos player given, you know, he was looking right at him. Seemed more like he did it in the heat of the moment then realised what he'd done.
He mistook him for Paul Kent, should have been given a medal.

This is exactly what the Warriors sponsor was referring to.

Wish Kenty was around to comment on this luai situation.

refs Union should be up in arms at the minimal charge.

I’m surprised the MRC missed the shoulder charge he put on only moments earlier to a broncos player in a defenceless position

Easily on par with, if not worse than Thaiday's shirt pull that saw him sit out a week:

Luai deliberately shoved the touchie out of the way. I vividly remember Panthers fans being outraged over Thurston only copping a fine for just placing his hand on Klein while arguing with him:

Luai's was a shove in the back that moved Sutton to one side.

Jeremy Smith (the shit halfback one) copped a ban for shoving a ref out of his way at the scrum. Ref was literally in the way. Luai just shoved a touchie for no reason and it's a fine lol

Players touching the referee while arguing with him has a hell of a lot of a different implication than a player trying to celebrate a try.

There was nothing aggressive in what Luai did. He was excited like always to celebrate a try. A grade one charge seems fine to me and I wouldn't have been upset if he was suspended.

Panthers have a bye... He would miss Origin and not a club game which is honestly an advantage to Panthers and NSW. He runs no risk of being injured and NSW are forced to select a better player in his place. You could maybe stretch your imagination to say what he did deserved a grade two charge though.

The officials had no issue with it either.

The NRL don't give a faaarrk.

They play favourites, and they don't care what anyone thinks about it.

That's not how it works in 2023.

You don't get to have a rep game count as part of the suspension. That was changed years ago.

It's pretty much a challenge to the fans saying yeah we are openly playing favourites, but what are you going to do about it.

I would have been fine with it if copped a week, glad it was only a fine though. The tears from fans of the shit teams are going down a treat.

As I said on par with Josh Reynolds from earlier this year.

I big difference between abusing a ref and mistaking a touchie for a player

Reynolds swore near a ref about a ref call and was a fine. Luai's wasn't worse than that

Ahh yep. Joys of being back at the top...Lots of salt
