Happens all the time when players are near touch or coming out of the in goal.

Players are allowed to get up in such situations

The difference is Keary never fell off the tackle. He maintained contact at all times.

If it happens in the field of play and they get up and try to keep running, the referee will stop play and tell them to go back and play it. It only becomes a penalty when the player in possession grounds the ball on or over his opponents goal line.

This really isn’t difficult to understand.

It was an obvious double movement. In the field if play it might be missed if Yeo got up and kept going... Swear it happens reasonably often where a tackled player is allowed to continue because the defender slips off as the player stands to play on.

But that is just the officials missing something. Just like the thousands of forward passed they miss. High contact they miss. Shoulder charges they miss etc.

On a video replay for a try. It's as simple as a defender has contact with you while the ball/arm carrying the ball touches ground. Tackle is complete and any effort to promote the ball or pass it should be a penalty. Not sure how there's any confusion about this one. Pretty black and white situation.

No grey area with momentum, slipping off the tackle etc.

Agree. No issue with the Yeo non-award.

My biggest issue is if we were down by 16 with 8 minutes to play it might have been given. We see context play a role too often in decisions in the game at the moment, even when the ruling should be black and white.
