Equal seventh biggest winning margin in history.

Only other season with two of the ten biggest winning margins in history was 1935.

It’s not salary cap causing this, dogs have had plenty of money to spend. Burton, Kikau, Mahoney Crichton, addo car, they’ve spent heaps. Tigers have been active in the player market also. I don’t think salary cap is the problem, it’s just difficult to build a winning culture, takes more than signing some good players. It’s a top to bottom thing, from the board down to the youngest juniors there needs to be an environment that is conducive to winning.

You gotta get the right player.

Manly broke the bank on Ben Kennedy but he turned dudes like Choc Watmough and Glenn Stewart from promising youngsters into legends and his influence turned into a dynasty despite his retirement.

So how is it that players can take unders to go to stronger clubs.
There's more than just money. There's the chance to play finals and win premierships. There's the associated increased chance to play Origin and for your country. More opportunity for better endorsement deals.

But mainly, can you imagine how soul-destroying it would be to be a perennial loser at a club with no culture?

That's worse than last night, given their opposition. They completely dogged it today (pun intended).

Souths play them next week. We'll make hard work of it.

Exactly, Dogs for example keep turning over players and aren't building towards anything

Yeah there seems to be a lot of instability there with the roster. It doesn’t take much to get guys to stop buying in. At the same time someone like Webster at the warriors has got big improvements out of them without any massive signings unless you count niukore, so it can happen, it’s just hard to predict what signing(coach or player) will have the right effect.
