I will first of all say that, even if the ref wasn't clearly against us, we still lose. Full credit to Canberra, they were way better.

As for the Flegler thing, I never said he deserved a penalty. He didn't, that's the point. You can't just go penalising every head knock and he didn't, but he penalised some and that's double standards. Rapana's head was at knee height at the time. What is Marty supposed to do in that situation?

I'm fine with Tapau not being penalised but I think the Raiders should get the ball back in that situation. Rapana only knocked it on because he got hit in the head.

So if he pops a shoulder and drops it do we give him the ball back??? What's the difference.. he got an injury and dropped the ball... Tapou not charged.. just sounds like f**k ups all around.

You're not the full quid, what's the difference? It wasn't high, it wasn't late, he literally dived to the ground. If he had of ran it like a normal player & not submitted to the ground like the cat he is we wouldn't be talking about it.

Ran it like a normal player ?

like Broncos players laying down 27 times during the game feigning for penalties like cats ?
that normal ?

You certainly sound like 'the neutral' you claimed to be.
Meh, I just hate the standard of refereeing this year. One week players are getting 10 & suspended for all sorts then the next nothing.
Brisbane never deserved to win at all, Canberra were the much better side no doubt.

Every team does it you halfwit!
I was just saying if he didn't submit to ground he wouldn't have copped a complete accidental knee.
Rapana is a whinging whiny bitch as well.

I had watched the game but needed to leave early (it being a late morning game in the UK) so didn’t see the incident until just now.

A few points from my perspective;
- I had thought given some of the comments on here that Rapana had dived at the knees. I think he was in a bad position to take the bomb, but going to the ground like that was the natural thing to do to catch that bomb.
- Tapau didn’t mean to knee him in the head, but wasn’t looking at the ball and trying to catch it.

For me that is penalty every day of the week and I am surprised it has caused so much controversy on here.

. What is Marty supposed to do in that situation?
I think the NRL will say he has an obligation to take care in his kick chase to ensure he’s not endangering the catcher. And they’ll say his actions were careless/reckless and as a result of that, the head knock occurred

I think they’ll say what Marty is suppose to do is recognise he is not going to be able to get there in time to contest the ball in the air and adjust his approach to ensure he’s not putting the catcher in any unnecessary risk and that’s why it’s a penalty

I’ll bet that’s more or less what Annesley will say at the weekly debrief and I do think there is merit to that. Marty had time to pull out of that pursuit and effect a safe tackle, he charged in carelessly and hurt a player with direct (and accidental) head contact

but as said initially, I wouldn’t have had any qualms about them just making us play the ball from the spot once Rapana was attended to
The only outcome there that is unacceptable is that the raiders lose possession because a broncos player split Rapana’s head open after he catches the ball
