Are the Silktails still planning on eventually being in the NSW Cup or are they content with just staying in the RM Cup?

They want to play NSW Cup but before they get there they need to start by finding a team that can make the top 5 in RM Cup.

I think they are happy to continue to take money from the Australian government via the NSWRL and provide players for Eastern Suburbs. Remember they are privately owned.

I think you will see a PNG side in NSW Cup before a Fiji side. I have heard that Fjii RL and the Silktails don't exactly see eye to eye and at one stage Fiji RL was trying to stop Fiji hosting Massey games in Fiji

Yes I have seen the stories about accusations that players were paid in groceries and the FNRL attempting to have them withdrawn from the competition. I have always thought that the idea that there were 17 Sivo's to be found in villages was fanciful but this was the story projected.

An earlier post seemed to imply that there was some financial advantage to the "owners" in keeping the team in the RMC, when the original announcements by Austrade spoke about not only funding the costs of the official seasons in years 2-4 but also funding the costs of participating in trials in Australia on the expectation that the team would be playing in the NSW Cup in those seasons, so in the 4 year cycle, money would flow regardless of which grade they were in. It will be interesting to see if a further trade agreement is put in place on expiry.

Only error in Shield was one of the try scorers for Mounties. Aykan Bosnali didn't score, J Schreiber-Karam was the try scorer. Hayden Essery was the unknown goal kicker for Ryde Eastwood. Christian Crichton played shield for St Marys after playing NRL for Penrith last season.

The Bulldogs should be a lot more competitive in Massey now. I have heard that they are swapping their Massey team for their Flegg team. So those who have been playing Flegg will now play Massey and Massey players will now play Flegg.

That will be interesting, you may remember that many of their Flegg players were used against the Silktails and the team still lost heavily. They are curreny running 2nd in Flegg, so maybe it is too early for such a major move.

The Bulldogs rate the grades. First Grade, KOE NSW Cup, Jersey Flegg and Ron Massey. I am lead to believe they now have put Massey in front of Flegg. I think they under estimated the quality of the Massey comp. They now see the benefit of putting their better players against more experienced opposition and expose their better younger players to football against men.

Don't take the Fiji game into consideration. Hills were last years premiers and couldn't win over there. The conditions are that foreign to travelling sides that all teams will struggle over there. The only games that may even the playing field are the two night games they play there.

This lines up with the relocation of their Massey game - until now they had paired with Moorebank's Shield games at Hammondville, as of tonight they're pairing with Flegg at Belmore. Will be enlightening to see if they continue to shift games.

Mounties 32 Bulldogs 18 - It looked like it might have been another hammering when Mounties led 18-0 after 14 minutes, and 30-6 in the 2nd half, but the Bulldogs did well to stop another blowout. The switch in teams worked well for the guys previously playing RMC as they won their first game in Flegg against St George.

Last night, the Kennel Forum listed the following in the spots of the unnamed players for the Bulldogs were: 2 Jordie Mazzonie 3 Michael Gabrael 6 Sione Moala 7 Joseph O'Neill 9 Rueben Moyle.

The interesting thing is that Josh Kalati was listed in that team but did not play tonight - maybe he is playing NSW Cup tomorrow or maybe he had to be left because he is not under 21.
