Murray copped a groin injury, even with a minor tear that’s him out of origin 2

Arrow with Syndesmosis will rule him out too.

if Matto or Lane play against the dogs you’d think they’d be getting a call up

Hopgood also a decent chance

I'm not so sure they'd be next in line. for NSW

Matterson was used off the bench for only one Origin game, after which he was available but overlooked. Lane has never had any rep selections, and while he had a good season last year his form this year with injuries has been underwhleming. Saifiti and Talakai have been selected/blooded since Matterson's single appearance, so might get a gig again this year from Freddy before Matto or Lane?

I don't think Queensland will make big changes or look outside of their tried and tested yet, to fill any injury vacancies. Capewell, Kaufusi and Nanai have all been selected and played in Origin matches and might be preferred if needed/available. Though Hopgood might get blooded in match three if Queensland go to a 2-0 series lead.

According to Gould you can’t play a rookie in Brisbane so Matto may have the inside running if fit
I don't think Matto will make many rep teams moving forward.

Culture and sacrifice is an important thing in rep teams and Matto isn't looked at too fondly in the Rugby League world after his decision to cop a ban instead of a fine.

Those type of things put a black mark against your name it's hard to get back from.

Ricky has a worse a strike rate then Freddy.

And btw in 2005 he left Joey Johns out of game 2 originally only because Trent Barrett did a hamstring on the Thursday he got rushed in.

Joey won that series nothing to do with Ricky's coaching.

And Ricky coached Australia and lost the WC in 2008 the only Australian coach to lose a WC this century he had a spine containing Slater, Smith, Lockyer, Thurston.

Against the Kiwis who had Hohaia, Fiennes, Thomas Leuluai and Benji is was there only world class player.

If a player can get picked for NSW only a few years after declaring he's a QLD supporter and would rather play for Tonga, then I don't see how Matterson has no chance.

Culture and sacrifice means f**k all to NSW (at least in this current version of the team).

He and the club tried on 3 occasions to change the plea..
There was regret and I don’t think anyone of any intelligence is going to say they haven’t made a bad or regretful decision after drowning their sorrows. Let’s not forget he had less than 24 hours after a GF loss to respond

What are Penrith's back-up halves stocks like? Could be a tough six-week stint for them...
