So what if Moses and NSW pull off a victory in QLD and go on to win the series which saves Freddy's arse.

Does that mean next year Moses is the Blues 7 no matter how the form is going at club level.

Or does he go back to Cleary just because he is best HB at Club level.

Because its not like Cleary is going poorly for Penrith he just doesn't translate it to Origin level.

How many "team-first" players do NSW have?

Latrell?
Luai?
Crichton?
Addo-Carr?

I'd say there aren't many.

Cleary reminds me of Pearce on that regard (though he's much, much better) - dominant at club level, average in Origin.

If that happens Cleary 7, Moses 6 I reckon.

I have not been as invested in a blues game since when Jarryd was a decent human. I really hope that Mitch has a strong game.

Since his selection I have heard merkins on Fox, Bloke in a Bar and MG on MMM all say that if NSW lose SOO II, then Hynes comes straight in for game III. Yes they are not selectors, but this thinking affirms my suspicions that they are cocooning Hynes and see Moses as expendable like Pearce was in the past.

I know that Moses is resilient and will take this opportunity as is, but if the chin guy is not available for game III, I will be massively pissed off if Mitch is discarded and treated as poorly as the dozens of NSW 7s on the origin scrap heap before him.

He still needs to have a pretty decent game to retain his spot, he's not their first choice, even if they don't see Hynes as a genuine option at seven or six for that matter yet.

I still don't get Hynes on the bench, you play him or you don't, a cameo at the end of the game is what you do in a dead rubber after winning the series, not in game one where winning almost all but decides the series.
