I guess if you have no confidence you can increase your fanbase and corporate sale appeal then sure, a run down small stadium you're not having to hire (but are having to maintain and run) might make sense.

Penrith have won 4 comps in a row and we have budgeted to have a $3m drop in membership/ticket sales this year.

Sharks maybe looking at similar with a move. When they have a Leagues club on site and the 5k extra crowd will help that bottom line massively

Penriths accounts are really weird for 2024! They have by far the lowest gate takings and membership revenue weirdly. Either they let people in for free, or haven't declared the takings lol

That’s just a cliche

The figures the club is showing above shows there’s literally no need they are already a financial powerhouse

Lack of rent and game day revenues including the new posh restaurant thing plus how much more the leagues club will make when it opens

And that’s not forgetting giving up home ground advantage

Sharks have shown their fans won’t go to kogarah which is next door so what chance Allianz works for them ?

I know it looks awful on tv but it’s a really nice set up with all the restaurants on the beach at Cronulla not far plus northies
