They aren’t on par with collingwood.
Collingwoods revenue last year was $87.5mill.
West coast last year had revenue of $92.6mill
carlton had $97.5mill fc revenue making them the biggest sports revenue generator in the country.

nrl clubs are a long way behind when it comes to revenue generation. Largely due to smalller crowds and smaller membership bases.
Carlton has pokies, the broncos don’t.

Way bigger profit

Their half yearly profit was close to 8 millionish

Suncorp is holding back their revenues now. If they had a 100k stadium they would fill it for games

Not just the worlds biggest rugby club but the biggest in Australia too

Market cap is 140 million

Broncos prelim had 250k people waiting in line for tickets

If broncos played at a 100k stadium I think they could get their average over 60k with the way their crowds are growing
You said they would fill it, outside of a prelim or a GF they wouldn’t.

Relevance ?

This is an NRL forum mate… where we discuss the NRL…
The opening line of the post he quoted say "Leaked NRL data underscores the fiscal strength of the Broncos – and why they sit alongside Collingwood as the most powerful brands in Australian sport."

A bigger issue, BBL is a listed company. Leaking thus type of revenue data is a straight forward illegal act.

it was a throw away comment if you read the rest of the article … does it need to be refuted referring to other unmentioned AFL teams ?

Unless i'm missing something I think the 'leaked' financial data, was just from the publicly released half yearly earnings report from the company.

Think it was just the journalist using some creative licnse.

Well yep. If the opening comment is wrong then you can pretty much disregard the author's work because it's intentionally misleading

Well then it's pretty much fabricated then, again, if the journo is deceptive regarding the source then you have to assume the entire article is full of excrement.

Then if they've just used hy numbers then its more headscratching as they've said "last year" not six months.

Basically you can't accept a word written by this gibbering courier mail journo who's work makes it seem like they're part of an outreach program.

I wouldn’t say the comment is “wrong”…
I would say it’s subjective … like a lot of media is these days…

There are a number of Australian sports brands bigger than Collingwood … particularly the national teams… they all “sit aside “ each other though

Broncos have to make as much profit as possible to pay dividends to their share holders (joys of being publicly owned) , those other clubs are not for profit so can reinvest earnings back into the club.
