Jesus christ imagine paying 600 bucks for a family of 4 at suncorp, absolutely ridiculous. On top of that parking, food n drinks and merchandise you're looking at 1000 bucks. f**k that
We're not talking a patch of grass on a hill, they're premium seats at a major venue.

I'll never understand why people target expensive seats as being too expensive. They're expensive for a reason, for the people who want the best spot in the ground.

they are only ridiculously priced if they are sitting empty

I'd agree with you if we were talking about seats in level 3 and 5 on the sideline, but level 720-723 in the eastern stand are not the best seats in the ground. They are great seats, sure, but the 'sideline' category ($95 a pop) is probably more fair for these bays. We've even seen these bays sold as the cheapest category (corners) to just get people at the gate in - Newcastle game last year, for example.

Hell - bays 601 and 602 are better than 720-723, and they are priced as 'sideline'.

Even the restricted view seats in these areas are charged full freight and they are selling at a snails pace while the rest of the venue has been sold down to single seats (or out) for weeks.

Granted - standard supply and demand economics apply and we got away with it for the Cowboys game and probably the Dolphins game, but it's not going to work for any other fixture (Penrith included).

Sharks supporters won't travel to Homebush, and Souths supporters appear to have given up... it could be a woeful crowd out there on Saturday night.

I'll be there. Taking my new lady. She is Japanese but spent her first 5 years in Australia in Adelaide so I am curing her of fumbleball. This will be our fourth game together and she's hooked. Loves the atmosphere at Suncorp.
Very resilient lady you have there.
if she spent 5 yrs in Sadelaide exposed to that fumbling mess & didn’t go straight home then she’s a keeper .

Home City Average: NRL plus key battleground fumbler teams:

I would expect the Dolphins to rise to outright second in the NRL as the season moves on, they've got the Storm and Broncos marquee clashes still up their sleeve which should both pull above 40k.

Dragons have the Anzac clash this year which will pull their Sydney average up. Dogs unlucky with the weather this week but should be able to get back to at least 15k.

I'm also keeping an eye on Storm v Western Bulldogs. Hopefully in a few more seasons we'll see them regularly outdrawing the lower fumbler teams in Melbourne.

Event games at big stadiums are the future as the capacity of some of our grounds are going to put a cap on our current trajectory at some point.

if the good half way line seats were sold I picked the seats in the corners in the ground floor level view was great

I'm also keeping an eye on Storm v Western Bulldogs. Hopefully in a few more seasons we'll see them regularly outdrawing the lower fumbler teams in Melbourne.
Could even happen this year, though a lot will depend on the form of both teams across the season. They should pull ahead of North Melbourne at least (their big crowds are always due to away supporters).

The Storm have a pretty decent fixture this year, a few blockbusters to start the season, ANZAC day will be huge as always, this week's 6pm Friday is during school holidays, and a few family-friendly Saturday twilight/Sunday afternoon games as well. I don't think scheduling will be to blame if attendance drops off.

Really shows what a shit decision playing at Redcliffe Oval is for the Dolphins crowds and Brisbane crowds in general.

The two tough things for the Storm in terms of moving up the ladder of attendance averages in Melbourne are:

1. the capacity of AAMI. It is obviously absolutely perfect for them at the moment and will be for years to come, but hopefully by the time the stadium is reaching the end of it's life around 2035 / 2040, they can get an upgrade to 40k to help them keep building. In the mean-time I would look at an event game at Docklands each year (maybe Warriors) if they climb to around 25k average and their average start to stagnate because of capacity. I'd leave the Anzac day game at AAMI as it benefits from the crowd coming out of the MCG prior.

2. As you point out, the lower drawing Melbourne AFL teams always have the 'get out of jail card' of getting home games against the big 4 which is enough to pull their averages just out of reach of the storm, even if they were selling AAMI out each week.

Anyway, they are building year on year and it's great for the game. There's so much AFL spin around what they've done in Brisbane and Sydney but we are building something special of our own in Melbourne and Auckland.

I agree. Daylight savings has ended so why are they still continuing with Sunday 6.15pm kick-offs? Sunday night games should only occur if there's a public holiday day the next day from April onwards.

I'm actually very surprised canberra have 3 of these scheduled this season including another next week. Just play them in the afternoon, guarantee an extra 2, 3 thousand will attend.
Makes no sense, should have been 2pm kick offs from last round.

Lol it doesn't matter where you sit,as long as you could see the whole ground that's all that matters, and I've rather sit on grass and have a picnic while watching the game lol.

Sure if people wanna pay ridiculous prices good on them, however we've never paid more then $50 each to any game of footy. We're not stupid.

Few years back I was invited to Penrith in the box, eat as you much drink.also, at that time it was $250 per head he told me, but that was when they had that shit looking stand, and Manly won just to rub it in further at my friend lol...

PS
I think the Bronx are the biggest rip offs, 600 for a family to watch a game of footy, crazy....
I would like someone to compare prices at other grounds if they're the same as Bronx ridiculous prices plz

what would be the price per game at Brisbane if you have a season ticket and not the most expensive seat possible?
