It feels like the Storm have built ANZAC Day up enough as an event, that they could possibly play anyone and draw a decent crowd. It's not like the Rabbitohs have been a form team leading up to yesterday's match, and the later 7:50pm kick off was previously seen as a deterrent for attracting fans across from the MCG.

All in all, it's great and I agree with some of the suggestions already put here, that the Storm should look at ways of turning the Warriors clash into it's own event and potentially even the game against Brisbane (who are the next highest drawer in Melbourne).

Picking one to play in Gather Round and then taking it to say Docklands is a nice friendly way of triggering the AFL.

Given the AFL own Docklands/Marvel, I doubt the will be triggered. Like last year, they will just collect the cash. Plus the won’t move the stands in during the AFL season so pass on that.

Given that they don’t play AFL finals at Marvel, if the AFL would allow the stands to be moved in, a Storm preliminary final there with 50k would be awesome.

They've already sold 709-711, so they have approval for level 7 south - they're just not staying on top of demand and should have released 704-706 and 713-716 (as 'corners'), and 707-708 (as 'behind the posts').

They've actually just released two rows of section 708 and 16 seats in 704. Not enough, though.

WhyTF are you not doing this job.^. And that`s not having a crack, there`s serious money for clubs to be made if they got this ticket release thing done correct. Start a consultancy and show them what they could be making or are missing out on, you might be surprised. I remember when David Middleton used to do League stats for fun, now he makes a living out of it.

In no way is this strategy looking after fans. Nor is it trying to maximize attendances. It is just trying to maximize profits. It happens in all sports these days and it sucks.
What these clubs forget is that without fans, they have nothing.
Sadly, they all treat fans like shit and attempt to milk every single dollar out of us that they can.

You're exactly right. Weekends are quite good for Broncos sales - I think 2-3k that don't understand will think it's sold out and might not check again. Unless the Broncos guy logs in over the weekend.

That’s a solid post. The concept of gradually releasing seats to people who want watch a footy game is fecking offensive.
