Can someone give us an update on GC watch after yesterday?

Great crowd for RL, with Broncos-Titans still to come
Gold Coast Crowds for 2024:
  1. Titans vs Warriors - 22,702
  2. Suns vs Tigers - 22,086
  3. Suns vs Bombers - 21,759
  4. Titans vs Dragons - 14,537
  5. Ttians vs Rabbitohs - 14,434
  6. Suns vs Hawks - 13,900
  7. Titans vs Dolphins - 13,898
  8. Titans vs Sea Eagles - 13,336
  9. Titans vs Storm - 13,096
  10. Titans vs Cowboys - 12,125
  11. Suns vs Crows - 11,466
  12. Suns vs Eagles - 11,440
Titans Gold Coast Home average: 14,875
Suns Gold Coast Home average: 16,130

Final home games for Titans:
Round 19: Titans vs Eels - July 13th
Round 22: Titans vs Broncos - August 3rd
Round 23: Titans vs Sharks - August 9th
Round 25: Titans vs Roosters - August 25th

Final home games for Suns:
Round 16: Suns vs Magpies - June 29th (SOLD OUT)
Round 18: Suns vs Power - July 14th
Round 20: Suns vs Lions - July 28th
Round 23: Suns vs Demons - August 17th

Truthfully, and I absolutely hate to admit this as a diehard Titans fan, I think the Suns run home outmatches ours. Titans will draw a great crowd against Broncos and a semi decent one against the Roosters, but that's it. Suns vs Magpies is practically sold out now and will probably draw the biggest Gold Coast crowd up until that point (if Broncos fans turn out, we can still hold out at number one). They'll draw decently against Lions too and depending if the Suns keep their winning record, they could make finals for the first time in their history, meaning that Demons game could sell out too.

Everything this season from on field performances to charging excess of $100 (including fees, of course) for sideline seats at CBUS has caused a crowd decline, and I do not know why I have such a personal vendetta against the Suns, but it aggravates me that the Titans aren't the better Gold Coast team for the first time ever.

Yeah has me confused. Given the titans form this year the crowd average is fine. I have no idea how the other mob are going.

The Titans have played 8 home matches, including 1 match in Brisbane for Magic Round
- Total (8 mataches) 142,282 at 17,785 ave
- without Magic Round (7 matches) 104,128 at 14,875 average
- top crowd at Robina - 22,702 v Warriors R16

Suns have played 8 home matches, including 1 match in Adelaide for Gather Round, and 2 matches in Darwin.

- Total (8 matches) 109,136 at 13,642 ave
- without Gather Round (7 matches) 99,799 at 14,257
- only at Carrara (5 matches) 80,651 at 16,130
- Top crowd at Carrara 22,086 v Richmond R0.

Gather Round actually lowers the average for the Suns, whereas Magic Round lifts it for the Titans.

There was a solid half decade where the Lions outdrew the Broncos and much ink was spilt in the tabloid and broadsheets of the time to convince everyone that QLD was becoming an AFL state.

Can you imagine trying to argue that Brisbane is anything but an RL town now?

It's frustrating but time will tell. Hopefully Dessie still has some juice left and can get the Titans up to speed.

2022 15184 16th
2023 19536 9th
2024 17083 so far 15th

AFL

So the object is to say more nrl fans than afl? Can I respectfully say, ‘who cares’.
