Disappointing Perth sales. Should have been sold out weeks ago. Perhaps the old ground is a heavy drag.
charging $69+ booking fee to sit behind the sticks is probably more the reason, and at 6pm Friday in the city, good luck getting across Perth to get there in time.
Its noticeable how different the pricing, scheduling and marketing has been for a club controlled game v last years NRL controlled games that drew 46k.
Having said that good weather on the day will likely see it go close to sell out with walk ups if they can get there on time.

Always got excuses.
excuses or logical reasoning?, its all in your perception.
Youre making the excuse it due to the stadium, Id suggest its not and timing and pricing are far more pertinent reasons why its hasnt yet sold out despite us being able to draw 46k to NRL last year.

They are literally charging more for behind the sticks seats than any regular NRL game in history (nearly double what they are charging for a Dolphins game at Suncorp). Perth people aren't stupid, they can see when they are being fleeced.

46k last year was a big contribution to the last year’s end of season surge. If Perth underperforms this year the chance of a record year is significantly reduce.

Hang on 6 pm Perth is one of the favoured time slots for a Perth nrl team

now you are saying it won’t work ?

that will work well for the eastern states as well. the nrl would probably like 4:15pm games in perth on sundays.

.
yes thats why it works well. The ninth game slot could well be 6 or 6.30 every sunday with perth filling a lot of them, gives day time KO in perth which is good for crowds and is a good time slot for tv on east coast.
Other than Monday night there really isnt another time slot you could put a ninth game.

no but you were waffling about PREFFERED timeslot. The preferred time slot for perth is not 6pm on a Friday you gonk.
Get those excuses in early !

Imagine how hard it is in a city like Sydney with serious traffic to get to a 6 pm Friday game and yet the clubs manage

What does it matter if it sells out months ago or within minutes of kick off? If it sells out, that is all that matter.

When I worked in the world of events, the old saying was any event that sold out early was underpriced and money was left on the table (same if inventory was left on the table, generally it was because the prices were too high).

Arguably it is more nuanced than that, but it seems like a pedantic thing to be 'disappointed' that they haven't sold more yet when they are still on track for a sell out, and when this game will rival the Brisbane Derby as the Dolphins most profitable game of the year.

from memory all the hbf park sold out games in Perth have been a day before or on the day. We do tend to get a reasonable walk up and with the time of this one I suspect it could be even more as people wait and see if they get out of work on time. Most RL fans are not city workers in Perth. There hasnt really been any promotion specifically to the city workers I've seen which is a shame as they are within easiest distance of the stadium for a Friday night.

If its not the usual Perth nrl storm we'll be train'ing it in then kicking on into Northbridge for a bit of drunken debauchery! Public transport is included in ticket price which is good.
