That Storm crowd was incredible, but I suppose the last regular home game, it sometimes gets a big crowd. Their first semi should get a similar crowd.

Not too surprised with the Souths crowd, Souths/Knights isnt appealing at a horrible stadium and both teams out of finals contention.
First final might be a bit smaller, usually ends up getting lost within AFL finals chit chat

I agree for the most part, but I recently went to mt smart for the first time since 09 and I can see why they sell out the games despite the team being meh. The way they dress up the game with lights/sounds and the party atmosphere was amazing. I didn’t even mind we got towelled up.
I can completely relate, the Broncos match day experience at Suncorp (especially for night games) has gone to a whole other level. It's no wonder they have both had big jumps in crowd averages the last couple of years and have stayed high even though both teams are rubbish now.

Amazing job Gold Coast. I have to admit, I'm not sure why this happens, but for the third year in a row the club has drawn significantly more post Magic Weekend than pre.

For this year the breakdown was:
5 Games for 66,992 (13,398 avg)
6 Games for 111,657 (18,610 avg)

I know the club had the likes of Broncos & Warriors in the second part of the season, but only the Sharks game was near the average for the first half of the season, with the rest all larger.

Looking towards next week's games:

Bulldogs v Sea Eagles continues to show evidence that it is heading towards the 40K the media keeps talking about with only southern GA (including Away GA) the only sections in the lower bowl with more than single seats. Currently all other categories are selling into Level 4, with tickets going into Bays 404 and 409 with the ones in-between at capacity.

Cowboys v Storm would be on track for a sell out if it wasn't on a Thursday night, with only a few thousand tickets left. Club needs a crowd of 19516 or higher to beat last year's average attendance.

Roosters v Raiders is continuing to trend well this far out. Raiders supporter bays are sold out, Category 1 & 2 reserved tickets in the lower bowl are sold out or down to single seats and GA Category 2 Roosters Bay has less than 100 tickets left. On Level 2, the club has already opened up a number of bays on the north side and there appears to be sales traction happening. As @Valheru has mentioned, kids get in free and the club will also be doing Monday Madness tomorrow, so its looking very encouraging. Game will be above 20K off current sales, will be interesting to see if they can push to 25-30K.

Newcastle v Titans was trending like Knights v Wests Tigers (22K), but with the Knight's Finals hopes back alive (although on life support) thanks to losses by the Dolphins and Dragons, there is a slight chance this game may catch fire.

Parramatta is actually marketing Eels v Dragons pretty hard locally, and there are some signs the game is moving. Last home game of the year for the men and at a family friendly time slot, it could get a similar crowd to the Penrith game, especially with corporate hospitality already sold out.

As a Knights fan I think the crowd next weekend will surprise people abit.

It's meant to be quite a lovely sunny day.
Miners round so tickets will be given away
Also fathers day usually get healthy attendances.

With some results going our way this weekend I'm thinking we might crack about 24 or 25 thousand. The thing that will drag the attendance down is there will be hardly any away support.
