which I get but we will have 20k in a 45k seat Stadium. That is where they need to be flexible this is perfect game for CommBank.

The Crowd all sits on 1 side so even if not full it still looks better.

When the saints played the Tigers in the 2010 finals they packed in 70,000 rabid fans into the toilet bowl. It was fantastic. Best game I've ever been to.

The point being, who doesn't want to watch their team in the finals? Apart from scum fans.

Tigers absolutely fit this as well. If a few of these teams have a run like the roosters/penrith/sharks we would see some monster Sydney crowds. Sydney in general has the biggest upside for crowds in the NRL in part because these clubs just don’t seem to be able to find consistent success.

It's not the perfect game for CommBank. That's even further away from the shire, it would be a nightmare to get to for Sharks fans. SFS is a much better option.

They are a hard one to judge. The old Tigers fans will be getting older. Someone who was 30 in 89 is mid 60's now. Where as in 2010 were 50

It's not the perfect game for CommBank. That's even further away from the shire, it would be a nightmare to get to for Sharks fans. SFS is a much better option.

Again we are in agreement if it is a Weekend, There would be nothing worse then trying to squeeze into a tram with AFL fans in amongst the usual peak hour shitfight

Sorry after reading the story again. CommBank was the NRL plan if the travel for Allianz was terrible.

You would add the Wests Tigers to the list too. In 2005, in the old SFS against the Broncos, they got over 36,000. In the same year, Dragons prelim final was attended by over 41,000. And of course 71,000 against the Dragons in another prelim final in 2010.

Unfortunately Wests Tigers have been sub standard for well over a decade.

As discussed before. Given that either side of the merger was good in the 80's. I doubt the older fans will attend, I'd have to see it in action before putting them on that list

Why would you send Cronulla fans to Parramatta though? There's limited parking at CommBank (same as Allianz), so the majority of the crowd would likely be required to travel further and longer by taking three modes of public transport (T4 to Central, T1 to Parramatta, bus or walk to the stadium) in each direction.

Compare that to Allianz which is closer in journey time and distance, and requires only two modes of public transport (T4 to Central or Martin Place, with L2/L3 to Moore Park or 333 to Paddington) in each direction. This also (let's be honest) gives spectators more pre or post game options for something to eat or drink.

All Sydney clubs should be aspiring to play finals football in the biggest stadiums in town (i.e. Accor and Allianz).

All Category 1 & Category 3 bays in the ground level at Allianz are now sold out for Roosters v Manly. Some of the Category 3 seats on Level 2 are also now down to single seats and on Level 4 they have released the rows right at the back.

For Sharks v Cowboys, the bays behind the goal posts are now selling into Rows M & N, so are continuing to move back and roughly around the ~70% sold mark now (it's a bit of an estimate till they enable pick your own seat). Bay 16 is now down to single seats and Bay 15 has been put on sale.

204 on the south end is down to single seats, so will be interesting to see if they start to open up more bays on the second level after cutting them right back.

I presume the plan was NRL to run buses. Which is easier to Parra given how busy Moore Park gets on a Friday particularly with 2 major events on.

I have no doubt teams would love those stadiums on a lovely sunny day but that is a seperate issue.

We saw it last year when the Panthers Prelim was on Fri night v Storm.

On Cronulla vs North Queensland, it appears TfNSW is planning for a combined crowd of around 75,000 at Moore Park on Friday night. If my Maths holds up, that would comprise:
- Up to 44,000 at the SCG for the Swans
- Up to 25,000 at Allianz Stadium for Cronulla vs North Qld
- Up to 5,000 at Hordern Pavillion for DNB Allstars
- Up to 1,000 at Liberty Hall for The Maine

I think 25,000 would be a solid result on Friday night all Allianz. It's a healthy crowd figure that is double what Cronulla could draw at Shark Park and would look healthy on TV.
