Bulldogs struggled to score when these 2 sides last met. A month is a long time in rugby league and these two clubs have a great rivalry. The Cowboys will need to defend much better than they did last week if they want to win.

Bulldogs’ supporters shouldn’t lose hope after last week’s performance. They just were a tad flat. Their effort areas off the ball were down and maybe got lulled into a false sense of security after their early try. I’d love to see a stat of the number of teams who have lost after scoring the opening try within 2 minutes. I have noticed a trend in that regard. Ciraldo is a smart operator though and should have them primed from here on in . Any coach that can reference Midnight Oil song lyrics (I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees)and South Korean tourists in his pressers gets the thumbs up from me.

You know you’ve had a bad day at the office when Josh Aloiai runs for over 100 metres off the bench. Skelton would have got a dressing down for his reluctance to help his forwards out last week. Will be very interested to see his response. Kurt Mann was sorely missed. The Bulldogs actually looked slightly better after Burton went to the head bin but that was probably more to do with the Bulldogs throwing caution to the wind when the game for all intents and purposes was gone.

So the equation is win today and play the winner of Dolphins/Knights or lose and play Manly with home ground determined by the Manly/Sharks game. The Bulldogs match up well against the Dolphins and Knights (and Melbourne for that matter-Craig Bellamy will be casting a nervous look over his shoulder at the Bulldogs who should have won their last encounter). Manly with TomTurbo would obviously be the less preferred option).

The Cowboys have looked infinitely better in attack since Clifford replaced Chad “sideways” Townsend. It gives the attack a point of difference . Something more than a short pass to a big 2nd rower running at an edge. Their defence is problematic though so it’s the Bulldogs by 8 .

Non event. Surely they both rest a few. No interest in this game.
The Cows won't, or shouldn't.

We win this it's a home final, and 5th spot. We lose we rely on the Sharks beating Manly otherwise we're the away side for Week 1, at Brookie.

I wouldn't rely on the Sharks to find their training ground on any given day.

Having said all that I think we lose badly. We are defensively bereft. Help us out here Sharkies. :D
