For all the talk of Dom, I think we’re going to miss Fitzgibbon the most tbh, in both attack and defence.

In last years form we will miss him. Having said that, he was still a bit of a one/two trick pony (he added the hit and spin to his "Fitzy line"), but Kalyn and the halves were using him well.

I'm comfortable enough with his replacements. Might not be as immediately effective, but way more long term upside.

I think the loss of Fitzgibbon has been overlooked a fair bit but I just have an easier time picturing one of KPP/Lucas/Cartwright stepping up than Jenkins/Tuala/Mapapalangi replacing what we had on the wing.

Be interesting to see how many meat pies Dom Perignon scores on the end of the Roosters backline next season.
Tedesco is a massive handbrake.
3 of the last 4 years the winger playing outside the old man ended up being the NRL leading try scorer.

Mark Nawaqanitawase and Dom Young are gonna become a scary wing combination. Why they sign Dom when they were gonna get Nawaqanitawase anyway?

Nawaqanitawase won’t be there till 2025 when both Suualii and Tupou won’t be there.

I know he obviously doesn't have the talent Dom does but Jenkins still has a pretty good try scoring strike rate if he gets the wing spot. 5 tries from 5 games in first grade and 40 from 49 games in NSW Cup.

The old man is still the best dancer at the club.
KPP favourite part of Newcastle is not Fannys but Gags.

On KPP, a little birdie told me Frizell will be shifted to the left next year with KPP and Lucas on the right starting/bench..
I thought Friz might go to the left. He can do what Fitz did only better and more consistently.

We've seen a little of Cogger and Pryce now lads. By the end of the season, where do you guys see us fitting in all of Crossland, Brailey, Cogger, Hastings, Gamble and Pryce? Everyone will probably have different opinions but I think it'll end up

6. Gamble
7. Cogger
9. Crossland
14. Brailey

Cogger is too similar to Hastings and I don't think they would make a good pairing. Gamble probably is the least talented of the bunch but offers many intangibles that the others don't. Can't see us keeping all our spine players after this season considering halves are in such high demand.

I'd swap Brailey and Crossland.

Here’s a question. Why do we not sign more players who have chip on their shoulder and something to prove? Cos every other club seems to do it. Ricky convinces his players no one rates them every week and to go and out prove people wrong. And you get results like we did on the weekend. They were hungry. We have Gamble. That is about it.

Just listening to Triple M and Dobbo, Hooper and Tallis has us as the biggest slider this season.
Judging by their credentials better get some money on us to win the minor premiership.

Throw Gal in that equation too, basically said on the Sunday Footy Show that we're next to no chance of making the 8 without Dom Young

I thought Raiders would be the biggest sliders as far as top 8 teams go. Off to a great start with that idea. Maybe our team thought the same?

Gus this we are top 8 for certain this year. I think we will finish 5th to 6th again this year.

Losing Young has a much bigger impact than just the try scoring ability (which did also win games we would have lost last season and is a massive blow itself). But he was also consistently turning poor/mediocre sets into good ones with incredible surging runs picking up 15 metres or more, he often won relieving penalties right when we needed them, and the x-factor created opportunities that improved our whole attack. I don't think we are the same team without him. And so far the downgrade appears horribly noticeable.

Marz made 209 metre
And 5 TBs in a side going nowhere. So we were spoilt for choice there with him, Gags and Dom all rolling up field. Let us not also forget the fact Dom is 108 kgs and 6 foot 7. It was never going to be any other way. I think we should be having a look at Lomax for next season. He would be able to do that with the right mind set. Strong lad. Just lets his poor mindset get in the way.

We didn't lose the game because we couldn't get off our line. We lost because we couldn't hold onto the ball and capitalize in the first half. Young wouldn't have helped with that.
